Hi guys.I just went to mix my first ever MMS using sodium chlorite and HCl 4%.I didn't get a colour change which I've been seeing and hearing about through all my research.Is this expected with HCL and does it only happen with citric acid.I'm obviously a bit tentative at this stage so i thought I'd check it out with you all.

I got my suplies from teh only UK supplier linked on the wiki so it should be ok stuff.Please put my overactive mind at rest if you can.

Your research is correct - you should see colour change when activating MMS. It is more difficult if you're your doing a small dose - so as a test - do a 10 drop dose (10 CLO2 + 10 HCL) in a small glass ( Jim prefers one with a dimple in the bottom so it all collects together - other-wise tip the glass ). It should turn yellow as you're adding the drops and brown(ish) given say a minute. If you don't see this reaction - then something is wrong.

Thanks Martin.That's what I thought.I couldn't see any colour change which is what made me suspicious.I'll do some tests to see if I got sold water.I may even dig for which tests I can do to evaluate the strength of what i got sold.I know I got HCL because I now the smell but what else I got I have no idea (just printed labels on the generic bottles).

Appreciate the reply.I'll keep this updated.(I'm going to check it out now).

Ok.Just done another test using ten drops each so I can see what's what.Both times I got an absolutely clear liquid and a reaction from the limescale around the plug when I poured it down the sink after about five minutes which tells me that theres still plenty of HCl circulating.

I got my gear from WPS in the UK as they are the only suppliers listed on the wiki.I bought a few bottles so I'd better test a couple more.Failing that I guess I'll have to get a lab test done on the sodium chlorite solution.Bummer.I want to get going with this but not until I'm sure of my ingredients.

Jagger Topic Author Offline New Member Posts: 10 Thank you received: 7	Only opened the two bottles so far (out of 10 - bulk buy) but thanks for the tip.I probably would have forgotten that. I've fired off a "contact us" form to see what they have to say.It did clean the plughole up nice.

Thanks for the help Martin.Possibly a life saver.

Turns out that out of the 10 bottles I'd bought one of them was Hydrochloric Acid 4% in the wrong bottle.I contacted the suppliers and they didn't really have an explanation over "it must have the wrong label".Turns out it was in a Sodium Chlorite bottle which is a different colour to the HCl ones.They asked me to test all 10 bottles (I plan on sharing it around) which I did and they'll send me a replacement bottle FOC.THey say it's never happened before but I'm just glad I hesitated and asked on here first.

So they're aware a cock up happened and I'm now all ready to start a procedure after an introductory regimen of course.I'll get the chiropractor out of the way tomorrow and then get stuck in.Thanks again for the support.

MMS (Master Mineral Solution) is Sodium Chlorite 28% (22.4% Sodium Chlorite, 5.6% Inert Salts and the remainder water) plus an acidic activator (usually 50% Citric Acid or 4% Hydrochloric Acid) when combined produces Chlorine Dioxide.
