Neilson Topic Author Offline Junior Member Posts: 32 Thank you received: 12	Hello, When making CDS, is the heat used to increase air flow alone - or does the increased temperature of the MMS/acid mixture somehow give off more chlorine dioxide at higher temperatures? I plan to use an aquarium pump to increase air flow when making my CDS. Would using heat on top of this be redundant? Thanks.

pam Offline Platinum Boarder Posts: 4593 Thank you received: 3702	I don't think it will be redundant. Heat affects the off-gassing (increased temp=more gas), the airflow moves it across the tube and into the bottle on the other side. Pam

MMS (Master Mineral Solution) is Sodium Chlorite 28% (22.4% Sodium Chlorite, 5.6% Inert Salts and the remainder water) plus an acidic activator (usually 50% Citric Acid or 4% Hydrochloric Acid) when combined produces Chlorine Dioxide.
