Hello, members.
I just joined the forum. Good to see you all.

I just purchased Sodium Chlorite 75%, and Citric Acid powder.
And I made 28% sodium chlorite solusion, which has light greenish color on it.
And I made 10% & 50% citric acid solution.

Then I tested mixing them together, in 1:5 & 1:1 ratio.
My problem is that I do not get any chemical reaction when I mixed them together.
No color change and no gas or smell.

Please, help me out here.
I cannot figure out what I'm doing wrong.

Thanks,

Thank you, Steve.

I don't know what I did wrong first time.
But second time I tried, it worked.

I purchased it from local chemical store, and it's white powder.
It says "above 73%". (not 80%).

It seems MMS reacts much better with 50% citric acid solution, and instant color change and gas&smell.
With 10% citric acid solution, I don't see as much changes as 50% solution does.

Is it normal ?
And is it OK to use with 50% citric acid solution all the time ?
What is the advantage of using 10% citric acid solution ?
