Hello fellow MMS-ers,

Can anyone tell me if herpes antibodies fall or die-off once HSV is eliminated from your body?
My partner tested positive for HSV with an IgG antibody test and I will go for my first blood test in 2 days since I have reached that 12-16 week window.

We have both been on MMS for 70+ days. Assuming MMS has killed the HSV, I feel my partner will still test positive on an IgG antibody test, because he has HSV antibodies.

I know HSV sufferers have been using the PCR blood test but I am a little confused about this test. If you have blisters and sores, a culture PCR is usually used as they contain viral particles. However, the HSV is said not to be a blood disease like HIV as it hides in the nerves.

Is a PCR blood test worth taking? If there is no active virus then this test would give a negative result though the HSV could be still hiding in the nerves?

Is there another test other than IgG blood test used for HSV?

I have my test in a matter of days and I want to make sure we both have the correct test done so we can get an accurate result and move forward.

I feels as though the last 3-4 months has been an everlasting nightmare.

Once you've been exposed to the virus your blood work will continue to show antibodies, but if you have been cured they will be low. There is another blood test for the actual virus itself which costs about $500 and insurance doesn't cover. If you remain symptom-free over time that will be the best evidence, but that will require some patience to wait it out.

The antibodies would be low if I got cured??

Is it possible to test positive within the positive zone 0.91+ and then the antibodies to decrease to a negative range if someone was cured?

My partner is symptom free but tested positive on an IgG test, some people are just asymptomatic.

What is this other test?

Is it the Western Blot? If so, I am unable to have that test cos I'm not in the United States.

If it is not the WB what is the name? I cannot put a price on my health and would pay to get an accurate result.

The Western Blot test is also an antibodies test - pretty much a variation of the Elisa test.

I don't know what other test Colleen was referring to, but it got me curious, as I've only heard of the Elisa, WB and PCR tests....

I think the spinal tap (OOOOOOOOOOUCH!) test is the most definitive. not sure about the $500 test mentioned - iwill research.

the next best test is a culture, so if you're having OBs at the time of test forget the culture test as it will very likely be positive.
IgG anitbody test can be positive or negative depending on whether it's dormant/hiding in the nerves at the time of test.

I saw youtube vids claiming PCR blood tests coming back negative...that's great, but with the issue of dormancy/hiding in the nerves, this is not exactly true or accurate.
PCR tells whether the pathogen is in your system or not. YES or NO. No in-between.
With all the mms you have taken I'd be surprsied to see a positive PCR blood test result.
One thing to keep in mind with PCR testing and labs in general is they're not perfect...there's human error, machine calibration issues and sample collection/handling procedures, etc.

Personally for me, Step 1 will be to take a PCR blood test (if no OBs at the time of the test). it will be an awesome reward for all the pain/suffering experienced over the years (including mms protocol just begun), of having this beast...to see a negative result. It will be a tremendous boost to the confidence and immune system, which both have suffered terribly.

Step 2 will be to continue on a mms maintenance program and after 3 months take an IgG antibody test. Hopefully by then the anitbodies will be in decline and I will be negative!!!! That's the goal. If not, then I will tweak the mms protocol and get a test 3 months later.

If you want to find out if you still have the Herpes virus... my test is ... eat Lots (1/2 cup ) of peanut butter everyday, for a week... and if you don't get a flare-up after that... you are HSV free !

Not FDA approved mid you, but a helluva lot cheaper than the $500 test, or a spinal tap !

I will take PCR and IgG. I'm not sure about the spinal tap. I would do it but does HSV really hide in the spinal cord. I will talk to the Dr. If it does, I will have PCR on spinal fluid.

I also had my concerns about blood PCR, if its hiding and not in a blood then naturally a PCR test would be negative.

All I say is, this has been a learning experience and I'm still learning about it all the time.

Both my partner and I ate large amount of peanuts and we don't have any symptoms.

We have stopped now, but we didn't have any symptoms when we ate them. Some people are just asymptomatic.
