Hi there,

I am hoping that someone can help regarding what to eat whilst doing the MMS protocol and Protocol 1000. My diet is mainly veggie, I eat a little fish. I am pretty healthy therefore most of what I eat is high in antioxidants. I have Jim Humbles book and although it is helpful I am still confused. Some people suggest no fish eg salmon, and eat lots of carbs (which I would find difficult as I don't eat many) others say keep healthy - but how as most healthy veg has antioxidants. Can you give me som e ideas of what you eat for lunches and dinners whilst doing this protocol? Thanks so much for your help......I am on day 1 and learning as I go !!! x

I always suggest an as Vegan as possible Dietary Lifestyle, and beyond that,
a "McVegan" Dietary Lifestyle, aka The McDougall Plan via Dr. John McDougall,
which includes carbs and vegetables and low-ish protein veggies with NO oils or
processed foods and low salt and sugar, especially for people who are unwell.

(at least until they are better -- 3 to 6 months to a year isn't going to 'kill anyone';
but the way you eat has probably greatly contributed to your poor or bad health)

See my website, link below, for more information.

Also, if I am remembering correctly, there is less strenuous objection to foods
containing natural antioxidants, and more of a "don't take antioxidant supplements" theory.

But you should be able to eat anything (good for you) outside of the 8-hour dosing period
(1 to 2 hours on each side) and probably even for lunch (1/2 hour in between).

As per Jim Humble's "MMS Health Recovery Guidebook".

Thank you so much for your reply, much appreciated.

I have got and read Jim's book, and am a healthy eater. However I am used to doing detox's where you keep going 24hrs a day, so this has thrown me a little as I initially thought that what Jim suggested was for the full duration of the protocol, but its seems that it is just for the 8 hrs (and either side) that it applies. I am starting early 7am and fasting, so my first meal is in the pm, this works better for me. So if I stick to eating around 1 hr after my last dose and eating clean/healthy avoiding the high antioxidants then I should be ok? Also he says to avoid herbal tea and coffee/cacao, again is this completely or would this be ok in the evening? Also a big no to oils - why is this? Is a bit of olive oil on salads ok? Sorry to ask you, I am sure you must be fed up advising newbies, but I am doing this protocol seriously and I want to make sure I get the best results possible. Thank you so much once again, you advice is super helpful.

Sorry it took me so long to reply.

Generally, you can eat or drink anything one hour (or 1.5 or 2) before the 8-hour
dosing period and the same afterward.

And for lunch you do 1/2 hour, which is better than nothing.
But ideally not the stuff you are not supposed to eat or drink, during lunch.

The 8-hours gives your body a resting period of 16 hours to get rid of the
toxins and such.

I don't think Jim talks about oils, but I may be wrong.

John McDougall is anti-oils because they are cancer causing and
cancer-promoting. (in part as a "concentrated food")
If you eat the whole olive (or whatever) then it is "okay", although
olives tend to be very high in salt / sodium.
"McVegan" (my term) suggests high-carbs, lots of vegetables, NO oils,
no other concentrated foods, no highly processed foods, low fat,
low salt, low sugar, and, of course no animal flesh or products or byproducts.
Or do the best that you can. Anything is better than nothing. And grow....
I think that is the healthiest way an human animal can eat. (other than Raw)
I call that the McVegan Dietary Lifestyle.
