So I had my Tonsils removed over 30 years ago when I was a kid.

I now read that Tonsils are your first line of defence against bad bacteria that comes in via the mouth, either from tainted good or even kissing someone.

I've been to two BBQ's recently and noticed I got sick after both. I don't think there was anything particularly bad about the food, 10 to 20 other people ate the same food and were fine, I just think not having my tonsils now means I'm much more likely to pick up something and have it take hold.

Also I used to go out with someone but they live over 200 miles away so I hardly saw them and I noticed whenever I kissed them on the mouth I got sick a week or so later - in one case I started coughing up blood a week later and in another my neck and shoulders would start to ache.

I think if anyone has had their tonsils removed they've got to be super careful.

Is there anything I can take to help boost my immune system to counteract my missing tonsils?

All I can think is to gargle and take a dose of MMS after attending a BBQ, so that if there's any bacteria I kill it whilst the numbers are quite small.
