My concern is the following: Will I be able to brush my teeth with mms (chlorine dioxide) and/or DMSO without them affecting the silver amalgam filings that I have in several teeth?

I read in the manual that sodium chlorite alone is highly corrosive and it can leach metal...since amalgam is a mixture of metals (silver, tin, zinc, cooper, and mercury) I'm worried that somehow brushing my teeth with mms/DMSO might also harm me in some form.

So,..will it be safe for me to brush my teeth with such fillings in 'em?

melany83, MMS (sodium chlorite) contains chlorine dioxide (CLO2) that is released when mixed with an acid such as 4% HCL (MMS1).

MMS1 is about 10% activated outside the body, and the rest of the activation should happen in a normal stomach. If you are using MMS1 to brush your teeth, there won't be much CLO2, but there might be some MMS (sodium chlorite) and acid activator.

If you brush using CDH, about half of the available CLO2 will be released externally.

Original CDS (not the so-called stabilized CDS) is 100% CLO2 in distilled water.

From Jim's latest book:

Brushing Teeth Protocol

In a glass activate 5 drops of MMS (see page 25).

After 30 seconds add only 1/4 cup (2 fluid ounces/60 ml) of water to the MMS drops.

Brush both your gums and your teeth with this mixture for at least 2 minutes. (Dip your tooth brush into the liquid 3 or 4 times while brushing.)

Do this 2 or 3 times a day while doing the protocols in this Manual.

Since Jim knows many people have tooth fillings of various sorts including amalgam fillings, he would not recommend brushing with MMS1 if it was unsafe.

If you decide to brush with CDH or CDS, come back here and we will tell you the equivalent amount of each to use. Or, you can find that info from a chart here .

Paul, do we have details on what was used for teeth brushing that might have caused amalgams to fall out? MMS1, CDS or CDH? If MMS1 or CDH, what kind of acid activator was used?

If MMS1 or CDH were used, there would be some CLO2, MMS and acid in contact with the amalgam fillings. 4% HCL or 50% citric acid might make a difference. I would suspect that citric acid could be a problem.

If CDS was used, then only CLO2 would be in contact with the amalgam fillings.

Personally, I would use CDS for teeth brushing over MMS1 or CDH.

Paul, I am in need another root canal :( and received a pamphlet from an endodontist which had this to say about the treatment. I was surprised when I read it.

Root canal or endodontic treatment is performed when the inner tissue of the tooth, the pulp, has been damaged, usually through decay or physical trauma. Treatment consists of removing the pulp and cleaning, sterilizing, filling and sealing the root canals. The tooth remains alive, nourished by the adjacent tissues of the gums and jaw. Over 90% of cases are successful, while a few may require additional treatment.

I did not see this addressed, and I would not use DMSO in your mouth with amalgam fillings. I am not the most knowledgeable, but the idea of even a possibility of absorbing even more of the mercury would freak me out.

A bit of a side note, I would really take a lot of greens. It helps flush heavy metals out of your body in your poop, which is easier than urine and that is the other way they go if you are releasing any.

I had a root canal when I was younger and various dental stuff. Had all of the amalgam taken out years ago, though, and had sensitive teeth a lot, but that stopped when doing MMS, and I do believe you can definitely prevent a root canal drinking MMS.

Another good book is

My health suffered greatly from one root canal in one molar for 20+ years. My testimonial is posted on this forum. I am sure that I will realize the extent of the detrimental impact, as I now continue to heal, following extraction and more importantly post MMS use. I had amalgam removal also in 2010.
