Hi -- I am brand-new to the forum, so please bear with me if I'm asking something already answered.

I, like many people, have to take PPI antiacids on a daily basis. (While I hope to get off these soon, you cannot quit PPIs "cold turkey" or you get severe rebound acidity.)

My question: Does the significantly lower strength/quantity of stomach acid resulting from Rx PPI use negatively impact the effectiveness of MMS when taken orally?
I've read the posts saying MMS doesn't interfere with Rx medication (when taken at different times), but my question here is more about how the PPIs may affect MMS strength/activation.

You can find the answer to your question by first measuring the CLO2 concentration of a MMS1 dose in a glass of water, then add one of your antiacids and measure again. Hello TexRed,
MMS is supposed to be partly activated in the glass, and partly in the stomach, with the HCl that it makes. It stands to reason that reducing the HCl in the stomach would at least slow the activation of the MMS once it is swallowed. But the only way to corroborate this would be to measure ClO2 levels inside the stomach.
I am not certain however that a PPI would be enough to hamper the efficiency of the treatment. I would maybe add one more drop to the protocol if it doesn't work with a normal dosage.

Perhaps another member who is also a PPI user and more familiar with the chemistry side of MMS could measure and report to the group. In the meantime, I look foward to seeing how I fare on the Starting and then the Protocol 1000.

Perhaps I will experiment with this after I get through the Starting Protocol. TBH, I am very focused on getting off PPIs permanently as soon as I resolve the long-term gut infections that have resulted from years of antibiotic use -- like many of us.

MMS (Master Mineral Solution) is Sodium Chlorite 28% (22.4% Sodium Chlorite, 5.6% Inert Salts and the remainder water) plus an acidic activator (usually 50% Citric Acid or 4% Hydrochloric Acid) when combined produces Chlorine Dioxide.
