Hello,

I want to buy a bulk shipment of MMS and HCL from the genesis store, as well as bulk DMSO from another supplier.

How long does each stay good, and do I need to keep them in the fridge?

Thanks

MMS (22.4% sodium chlorite solution) should store about 5 years, I am told. I would transfer MMS to glass containers. I have had some HDPE plastic bottles crack and leak the MMS out.

HCL probably has no time limit on storage and the same for DMSO as far as I know.

I would store all of them in a cool, dark place if possible.

The reason to store MMS1, CDS and CDH in a fridge is because CLO2 gas tends to stay in solution when kept below about 50F (10C). So when the bottle is opened, less CLO2 gas escapes into the air.

If Steve sees this post, he would have more information on storing these chemicals.

I ordered some MMS from Keavy's Corner 4/5 years ago, and came here to find out if it's still good. Aside from this thread, I found a 2011 post by Michael Harrah:

"Jim Humble has MMS bottles that he prepared four years ago. They have been stored on a dark cupboard shelf. Those are the oldest MMS bottles that we know of and they produce ClO2 gas just as they should when activated with citric acid or fresh lemon juice. We know also that if the bottles had been refrigerated, they would last at least twice longer given the chemistry involved. The breakdown of the Sodium Chlorite in the bottled solution is radically slower at 40 degrees Farenheit than at 70 or 80 degrees Farenheit. So a standard bottle of MMS is estimated to have at least an eight year life if it is kept cool in its darkened container bottle."

I have kept the SC and HCL at room temp, so I guess I'm right on the edge as to whether it's still good. Is the best way to find out just seeing if it turns amber when mixed?

Mr. Harrah says SC should be refrigerated. How about HCL, and MMS1 spray solution?

They will probably produce some CLO2, but how much compared to freshly made MMS and activator?

Unless you have a benchmark to compare against, there is no way to know.

Recently I was running some CDS tests and did not get the amount of CLO2 I was expecting using 18 month old MMS and 4 year old 4% HCL. I made fresh batches of both and then got what I expected.

Since I have measurements from past CDS testing using the same containers, I can run the same tests with MMS and 4% HCL at a later time and compare the results to past testing.

Most people don't have photometers to measure CLO2 and test strips are not adequate for this kind of testing. Probably the best way to be sure your MMS and activator are good is to make fresh batches of both yearly.

With the current war against MMS, I think soon it will be almost impossible to find anyone willing to sell MMS. MMS is what we need. Activators are easy to find and you can even take just MMS and rely on stomach acid to activate it if necessary.

All of us need to have a supply of sodium chlorite flakes stored in a cool, dark place for future use. Shelf life is said to be 20 years. Right now you can buy sodium chlorite flakes on Amazon and at other online stores. Be sure to store the flakes in glass jars with plastic airtight lids.

Ok. I fell on some concrete the other day and got scraped up, and thought to try some mms on the wounds.

I mixed 10 drops of the 4 year old SC with 10 drops of the same-aged HCL and it became amber and had the smell, so I guess it's somewhat ok.

I put this in a 20oz spray bottle with an oz of water, per the instructions in the HRG, and sprayed it on the wounds. It doesn't sting or bubble like alcohol or hydrogen peroxide... how does one know if it's working or doing anything?

It seems your MMS and activator are working.

You made MMS1 which is 10% activated after 30 seconds of activation time and then you added 30ml of water. That should provide 266 ppm CLO2. Should kill any infection that may be in the wounds. You could spray those areas daily until healed.

When you add tap water to mms it deactivates it. Depending on the minerals in your water of course. If you have "heavy water", as in lots of calcium or limestone then your mms binds to the minerals and nothing is left for you.
For sure proof perfect mms..... Always use distilled water.
