Hi all
I'm new to the forum and MMS so I wanted to ask a couple of questions. I have a dog that I rescued who has tested positive for Leishmaniasis (LEESH-ma-NIGH-ah-sis) it's a zoonotic disease caused by Leishmania parasites transmitted by the bite of an infected phlebotomine sandfly. It's rife here in Greece, and the vet tells me there is no cure. She's doing well on a human drug called Zylapor, but I'm told she'll need to take it for the rest of her life as they have no way to eliminate the parasite from the blood. After watching the Malaria and MMS video I immediately thought of treating Toula (the dog) with MMS. Thing is I'm not sure how to go about it ie. how many drops per day, how often, for how many days etc. The dog is 20kg and having been almost starved to death will now eat anything.

Also I'm fostering two tiny puppies who came in with Sarcoptic Mange. they've had an injection at the vets and are responding well, but I'd like to know how I could have treated this with MMS or whatever else is suitable (I'm still trying to find my way around the different solutions here) plus if the other dogs have caught it I'll need to treat it in them too.

I am not at all experienced in this disease. If it were my dog I would probably start with 1 drop activated MMS every hour for 8 hours. If no bad reaction then up it to 2 activated drops MMS every hour for 8 hours and so on till you reach their tolerance level. Then stop and let dog rest for the day and next day if dog is fine again start again only less 1 drop of dose that made them sick. Maintain this for awhile and see if you can later up it. If 1 drop is too much then try 1/2 drop.

For every drop of MMS you need to have 1 ounce of water. Some folks use broth, some mix it with canned food, etc.

My dog was about 40 lbs and I could only get her up to 10 drops every 2 hours but it worked for her tumor!

As for how long, I do not know. Protocol 1000 suggests 3 weeks.

Mange I would suggest a spray on them but be careful cause they might lick it off and get themselves sick! I do not suggest DMSO as some dogs do react to it. Some do fine. Perhaps a CDS spray for pups?

It's quite a commitment isn't it, bit tricky on the days I have to go to work, there's nobody at home to give it to her. Exactly how did you get your dog to ingest MMS every hour, I mean it's pretty foul tasting, like municipal swimming pool water, did you mix it with something Thanks. Lucy

Some people have success mixing it with some broth. Others with canned dog food. Whatever you find that works with your dog.
You may have to give it to them with a feeding syringe followed immediately with a really really really good treat? Consistently or they will learn to avoid that syringe like the plague!

Many times I had to go every 2 hours as for her every hour was to much.
