Hi guys,

I got some sodium chlorite flakes off ebay and measured it out and mixed it with distilled water to make a solution and did the same with critic acid powder. When I mix the two together I get the chlorine smell and it turns yellow as it is supposed to but the sodium chlorite solution is cloudy. Is this bad/a-problem? It means there’s stuff in it that doesn’t want to dissolve in the water, right?

Also, when I drink the CD (heavily diluted of course) there’s a slight almond-like aftertaste. Is that normal? Interestingly it didn’t seem to taste like that yesterday when I was using ionized/filtered/slightly-alkaline water (from a Waterman h2go filter) but today I just used only slightly filtered tap water and the chlorine taste isn’t as strong but there’s this almond-likeness to it now instead. Could that be CD oxidizing impurities like chalk or copper in the water?

The only reason I stopped using the Waterman filtered water was because I read that alkaline water deactivates CD. But it is only slightly alkaline ( pH 8 ) so is that a problem?

I’d be really grateful for any advice here because I don’t really know what to do.

Hello x12nu.

It seems your sodium chlorite solution (MMS) is working, but is cloudy. That could happen if you did not heat the SC flakes and water when making MMS. Also, you need to stir often and it takes about 30 minutes before all the flakes are dissolved. It won't be water clear; mine never is. You could filter it through a brown (not white) coffee filter. Or, let it stand undisturbed overnight and pour off most of the liquid leaving behind any sediment.

I have bought SC flakes on ebay and had no problem with it. Which seller did you buy from? I only buy from sellers with high positive feedback ratings.

To make MMS1 doses I always use distilled water. You could try that and see if there is a difference in taste.
