Hi all, I am a New Zealand Dairy farmer milking 500 cows. Last year we encountered a new strain of Theileria orientalis called ikeda. This new strain has been associated with anaemia and death in cattle. This disease is now wide spread over half of New Zealand dairy farms and is getting worse.
There is a veterinary treatment that is very controversial with a lot of strings and very long meat and milk withholding times. I have been told about MMS through a family member and really want to give it ago with affected cows. How would I go about this?
The herd is made up of Holstein Frisiens. I have ordered some CDS and am not sure if I should administer orally, intramuscular, or intravenous.
I did read somewhere that Jim Humble used MMS to cure 800 cows of E coli in spain although that cannot be confirmed. I talked to the local MMS distributor and he told me to try 6cc in the muscle 3 times a week.

Thanks for reading :)

Do a search for user "drgreen" using the internal search function (set to "any date") the system comes up less than a year. This chap saved a calf with scours by injecting CDS (after trying oral treatment).
It was Andreas Kalcker who treated 800 calves who would be the best source of current information ,my only contact address for him is: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
I saved a cow (Highland) with mastitis with oral doses of mms/cds - do a search for "neula"
