Does anyone have any experience using Chlorine dioxide to kill fungus in confined spaces?

For example I've started taking an interest in photography and read about how fungus spores can grow on camera lenses and in fact I just bought a 2nd hand lens off eBay and it has fungus growing inside of the lens.

I was wondering if anyone has used MMS / Chlorine dioxide, espacially in gas form to stop thing like fungus and spores growing in a room or a small space such as a place where you store things, like boxes, camera bags, etc?

BTW I found this very interesting website on Chlorine dioxide

Sure I understand it can't remove what's there just wondering if it will kill the fungus in the lens so it don't spread to other lenses and also if it will damage the lens in any way such as by making it cloudy?

This was a very cheap buy from eBay but the lens itself is really nice manual focus lens, so there's no electronics whatsoever to get damaged.

It's just plastic, metal and glass. No electronics.

I was considering getting a big glass jar, putting the lens inside and putting something like a coke bottle cap with some MMS and then putting the lid on the entire thing and letting the chlorine dioxide gas do it's thing.

I'm in England so I don't expect the fungus in the lens to actually grow any more then it has done.
I just kind of want to kill whats already inside to stop it spreading.

Also wondering if it's a good idea to put a cap of MMS in my camera bag when empty and lock it up and let the gas do it's thing in there as well and let it air out and use it.

How do you use MMS / Chlorine Dioxiode to kill Mildew and Mould? Do you use it in gas form or liquid?

It's what they used to clean those houses after Katrina - Jim writes about it in his book.
