So sorry to hear that your dog has DM and no, I never got a reply on clarifying the preparation of Protocol 1000 Plus. My experience with MMS was overall positive but unfortunately it did not result in a recovery as I had hoped but I do believe it help improved her digestive issues.
As for Protocol 1000 Plus, I just used it as I describe in my initial post as I didn't have anything else to go by but my interpretation of what I read in the book. I do hope the Chapter dealing with animals gets better clarified in the future so we can ensure that we are giving our pets the best method and chance for healing.
I followed the rest of the Protocol exactly and Iresulted in no negative issues for my dog. The syringes were a def must to administer accurately.
I still give MMS to help keep her free of heart worms or other nasty stuff because I will no longer give her vaccines, heart worm pills, or flea/tick meds or expose her to anything else with toxins as I feel it will only make her DM worse and may cause it to progress faster. I use Cedarcide Tickshield as needed for ticks/fleas, it's Deet free and uses Cedarwood Oil.
My dog has continued to deteriorate and is now being unable to stand or walk w/o help. Her back legs still work right now although not great but at least not paralyzed but she lacks the muscle strength (at least it appears to me to be that) to stand up and/or walk w/o help. I finally had to buy a harness to help her in and out of the car.
My dog was given DNA genetic test Oct 2017 and was informed positive result in Nov 2017 but I noticed subtle issues as early as last Summer 2016. My point is that she is 9 months out from diagnosis which is a good sign as all info on DM prognosis seems to be that dogs will get passed the point of no return usually within 6 to 12 months of diagnosis. I do think MMS has been helpful in slowing down the disease and even if not, it cannot hurt to give it for reasons I stated above.
I used Dr. Clemmons protocol and I found it caused a lot of stomach upset when using the Acetylcysteine and the Aminocaproic Acid together. She visibly had pain but she also suffered since a puppy with digestive issues so made it worse. The Aminocaprioic Acid alone didn't seem to bother her as much. Basically, I saw zero improvement with Dr Clemmons and saw some negative effects.
I will NEVER give up searching for a cure and will continue to research IOT find anything (i.e. supplements or otherwise) to cure or at least, to slow or retard the prognosis. What I can say is that she is now 11 yrs old and still bright eyed and wants to play and is not in pain. Her last Vet checkup was a few weeks ago and the Dr said she looked really good.
I have begun to give her MSM (from PC NetwoPX) and L-Glutamine (Now brand) to try to help with building up muscle strength and repair. I also give real Vit C (Pure Synergy in power) and full spectrum Vit E (tocopherols Solar 200 IU and tocotriencols Now brand ) along with Nutritional Yeast for B-Complex. I've even give two drops of Nascent iodine (Global Healing Center/Dr. Group) and occasionally 1/2 tsp of Dulse. I feed Raw food diet and give real beef bone broth. Sardines too and I like Answers Fish broth (stinks but she loves it.) Also, she has developed anxiety especially separation anxiety which she never had. I suspect it has to do with her DM as she has to be aware of her limitations and it makes her anxious. I give her CBD oil and it helps a lot (Pet Releaf is one I've used among a few others).
I apologize for the long post I hope you don't mind I just know how awful it is to watch our dogs go through this and if I can pass along some of the things I've learned and done after hours and hours of research then I wanted to do it.
I think there is a private message feature on this site (Ive never used it) if you have any other questions as time go on or just want to pass along anything you might learn.
Hope some of this helps. Sorry if there are any typos I got tired of rereading for mistakes. lol
