Further to my first post I have since written things down instead of trying to use my head and also finding the ppm dilution calculator (e.g. here: www.physiologyweb.com/calculators/dilution_calculator_ppb_ppm_ppt_pph.html) I see that my concentration solution is about 3500ppm (which may explain the mottled brown but no black colour of the test strip).  So that's ok ... unless someone can correct me. Now I have to work out how much distilled water to add to my concentration to bring it down to 3000ppm.
But... what do people taste, for example with protocol C?
