I have made a few batches of CDS,  twice, putting 5 ml of MMS into a shot glass inside of a 1 litre Fido jar.

www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0118OIPRG

I finally got some test strips. and have a hard time telling exactly where the concentration is at.
It looks to be shy of the desired 3,000 ppm of ClO2.

I get a full 16 oz's of CDS in this 1 litre Fido jar. Which I am very happy with.

I don't have a lot of money or time, to experiment and wonder if anyone has experience with the
0.5 or the 0.75 litre Fido jars?  Do they make a stronger CDS?   If so what volume?

Has anyone tried using more than 5ml of MMS to see if that will raise the concentration?

Thanks in advance

I had another quick question....
How long to wait after your first infusion of the CDS water unitl you load up another shot glass with 5ml of MMS?

Has anyone tested  the concentrations of batches that have sat for different  amounts  of time?

It has been 7 hours now and the shot glass contents are yellow and not brown any longer.

I have waited as long as overnight  (12 hours or more) and as short as, as soon as I see the MMS mix turn yellow.

Thanks

Hello tittiger,

to make cds, it seems to me that the timing is different depending on the temperature around when you do your infusion, at 15°c for me in the room where I was doing it this winter, it took about 48h to get it right (so 2x48h to get it done..).
You can see it's right when the "yellow" is exactly the same colour in the jar and in the glass, if it's still darker on the glass, the saturation is not finished.

I use a 1 litter jar with 750ml of water, then 10ml of sodium chlorite and 10ml of activator..

For those who don't have the patience for 2 infusions. Not my recipes, think I got them from Charlotte Lackney.
Will still need to test with LaMotte test strips.

Quick CDS
Hydrochloric Acid
For the Quick CDS method it’s 5 mls Sodium Chlorite & 10 mls of HCL, this can take 3-7 hours to be done.
Citric Acid
For Citric Acid it’s 12ml Sodium Chlorite + 24ml Citric Acid and this should be closer to 3 hours.
