I am going to make CDS the way Andreas Kalcker does using a hermetically sealed glass jar and shot glass. Does is matter what the seal is made of? I purchased a few hermetically sealed jars but got to thinking... is there a preferred material the seal is made from, or does that not matter? I'm guessing my jars seals are made out of rubber.

I had some time, so I am going back through the forum to see
if there are posts that no one commented on, and making comments
if I think I can offer something of value. I don't like to see people
"ignored" (not purposeful, I'm sure) when they are asking for help and such.

My replying to this will put it at the top of the list, so maybe someone
who knows about this will see it and reply.

I've been using silicone seals for my CDS jars and they have worked well. They do take on the color of CDS, but that fades in a few hours. There doesn't appear to be any degradation after 2 years of use.
