For how long is CDS active once added to water? Jim Humble doesn't seem to discuss it in his book.

CLO2 in CDS is active as long as it stays in the water solution. How long depends on how CDS is stored. Must be kept below 50 degrees F and away from ultraviolet light. Storage bottle must not allow any gas to escape. CDS can keep for many months if properly stored. But, why store it for long periods of time when it is easy to make and in a little as 3 hours using the new Quick CDS method. 

Jim only uses MMS1, not CDS or CDH, which is unfortunate.

I usually use standard MMS, but the taste is sometimes a problem. So, I was looking to buy some ready mixed CDS.. I usually add drops to my dog's water - who doesn't drink it all immediately. I do the same for a relative - who also likes to drink it over a period of a few hours. That's why I wondered how long the CDS is active after being added to water as it may not be drunk straight away.

I'm not sure I've understood your response.

Start with cold water/CDS solution. In an open container (the dog's water dish or your relative's cup/glass) and at room temperature, the ClO2 concentration will start to drop within a few hours. For your relative, I suggest an insulated tumbler or a beer koozie (cozy??) to keep the temperature down. Adding an ice cube will extend the time that the liquid stays below 50 degrees F. As for the dog's dish, it's easy enough to just add some more CDS a couple of times a day. CDS is incredibly cheap when you make it yourself.

Sometimes I use a small handheld humidifier with about 75 ppm CDS solution in it. When I leave it out for 24 hours at room temperature, I find that the CDS concentration drops to about 25 ppm. I just add a few more ml of CDS to it and I'm good to go.

I use an insulated stainless steel tumbler with chilled CDS solution, and add an ice cube or two. By the time the ice has melted I'm finished with that serving, and pour myself another. I use 18 ml of CDS in each liter of cold, filtered water and drink it all day, every day. My understanding is that CDS doesn't react with stainless steel or glass..

MMS (Master Mineral Solution) is Sodium Chlorite 28% (22.4% Sodium Chlorite, 5.6% Inert Salts and the remainder water) plus an acidic activator (usually 50% Citric Acid or 4% Hydrochloric Acid) when combined produces Chlorine Dioxide.
