Hey, frens. Wondering if anyone has experience or opinions on using MMS to help some pear/apple trees that are fighting fire blight. I was considering spraying them with H2O2 to give them some help, but then I thought my irrigation (rain) water with a little higher dose of MMS might be even better to help the root system fight it off.
Maybe I will try it on one of them as a little experiment.

Bumping this to the top. This seems to me that it should work, since fire blight is bacterial infection. I am going to try it on at least one of them and still looking for anyone that has tried it before.

I have never tried it myself but I have read somewhere that plant would also benefit from MMS.
let us know your findings please.

Just a quick update on this for any that are interested. I found an interesting group that is applying for a registration for this application at the following link. I have started giving the pear trees and one apple tree a 2 gallon watering can every few days of 10 ppm ClO2 residual (measured with the LaMotte dipsticks). In my case, using the rainwater in the system from last year, it is 42 drops MMS1 into 2 gallons of rain water. The trees are small enough that I am able to pour it over the limbs letting it run down the tree into the root ball. The trees are just now starting to come out of dormancy for the spring, and we are in the Arkansas Ozarks. Here are a few pictures to document our starting point. The pear trees were wildly successful until last year when we had a very favorable blight spring, wet and warm, then like a dummy, I spread it to the apple trees, lost one, have 3 others in trouble, and 2 that appear to be fighting it off on their own. I believe that the pear trees will die this year without any intervention. I have found that it is never too late to help the tree with what it needs, as even when it has died all the way back, that root ball is still fighting.
In addition, I plan on hooking up an Energy Cleaner from John Moore- The Liberty Man to the cage on one of the pear trees for a few weeks to document any difference there. More experiments planned here, but way too early to make any claims. This is only a hunch at this point.
