Greetings, I’m new here, and new to CDS / MMS but currently reading Jim Humble’s book, as well as posts here. However I have a question which I haven’t yet found an answer to & that is -

For Candida… is bentonite clay or diatomaceous earth (DE) recommended?

I read the “Fungi” Protocol in the book which uses the clay, but then I’ve read in a few posts that people are recommending DE.

Any recommendations are appreciated. The  reason why you think it’s the better choice would be great because that’s the info I can’t seem to find.

I haven’t found a protocol for DE, so if anyone could share it that would be great.

I think the clay or DE protocol is done before the MMS, because Candida hides behind biofilm which the MMS can’t penetrate. If that’s correct, can anyone tell me what the MMS does with regard to Candida?

I’ve read testimonies & blogs about how CDS cleans out Candida, but then the book says otherwise. So is CDS in fact used for Candida, or not?

Some people have severe allergic reactions to DE, myself included. I always recommend changing your diet to clear up Candida. Bentonite clay can't do it by itself in my opinion. Your diet gave you Candida. Fix that first and foremost.

May I ask what your allergic reaction was?

I'd been using it for about 5 days, then upped my dose too quickly I think and broke out in a rash on my torso. Not sure that's an allergic reaction...could be herx.

Btw I replied to you the other day. Oddly it's gone. Maybe I messed up. Anyway I agreed with your post and I am on an anti-candida food plan now, and yeah, I was hitting the ice cream pretty hard this past year, which I turned to out of stress and a bunch of other stuff. Apart from that I was eating well. Essentially I follow the Weston A Price guidelines for food.

I got the worst hayfever of my life. Itchy all over, swollen eyes etc. I would never use it again or tell anyone to use it. It even messed my dog up with a similar reaction. Not good stuff at all.

I have been using DE for years with no problems. I occasionally mix in a heaping teaspoon with my coffee and cream. It works by mechanically scrubbing the gut. It does provide a dietary source of Silica

The Weston A Price diet isn't remotely close to the Standard American Diet (often notated as SAD). Price's work is worth the time to read, as is Sally Fallon's. I find it ironic that many will spend money on pre and probiotics but don't bother fermenting which provides them naturally. Fallon's book might be titled "Nourishing Traditions" for a reason.

you could also look up Dr Jennifer Daniels for candida cleanse.  Here is the link to the protocol:
