HCL diluted to 4% was created by Gyuri
I made my own 4% HCL from ACS grade 37 % hydrochloric acid. I do not understand molar mass. I never studied chemistry. I tried to learn about molar mass. I dont get it. .
Is it possible to get a 4% solution of HCL from a bottle of hydrochloric acid marked as 0.1N. (0.1M) 500 ML
I told someone about MMS and this is what they purchased. I only understand how to dilute HCL starting with a percentage.

Molar mass is beyond my comprehension, too! I am not a chemist.
Look at this MSDS for 2M (2N) HCL
m.media-amazon.com/images/I/A1XIyxo0aWL.pdf
HYDROCHLORIC ACID, 2 MOLAR (2 NORMAL) SOLUTION
Water 93.72%
Hydrochloric acid 6.28%
Using 6.28% I diluted down to 4% and made CDS. But, the expected CLO2 ppm was not right. I use a photometer to measure CLO2 ppm, so I can get more accurate measurements compared to CLO2 test strips. I determined that the 2N HCL I had was closer to 5% HCL.

So here is the msds for the HCL in question
www.labchem.com › msdsPDF
Hydrochloric Acid, 0.1N (0.1M) - LabChem. It shows .36 hcl. and 99.64 water.
Almost seems too weak.

Hi Gyuri! could you please post url for the ACS HCL that you mentioned above? I am looking for HCL that is purer than the one you can purchase from hardware store.
