Recently I learned about MMS and CDS and starting using CDS myself on Saturday for myself for a wound. This evening I noticed one of my cats seems to be having difficulty swallowing. A pronounced swallowing is something I have noticed in the past, but tonight it seems to be much more so. Her purring sounds different also, and her meowing has sounded different for the past couple of day. Something just feels not right to me with her so I am getting very concerned about her and would like to try the CDS for her, but am concerned about the dosage and how I can get her to take it easily, perhaps with a liquid other than water that she might like. When I have used syringes in the past with my cats, it has not been pretty with most of the solution winding up on their faces, though I guess she'll lick the solution off her face, which should help. Since I am just up to a one drop dose for myself in 4 oz of water, I am also concerned about giving her too much. Since she does not like the litter box and goes outside, I will not be able to tell if she has diarrhea; and while I am typing this she has made sounds like she is nausea. However, it may be difficult for me to give her regular small doses if she is afraid to come in for fear that I will keep squirting CDS in her mouth. This summer I had an experience in giving her ear drops and her not wanting to come in to eat. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for the invaluable life-saving service.

Try putting it on Tuna or canned cat food that she likes. Start small. Make up a 1 drop dose and give her 1/4 of it or even 1/8 of it. Go slowly.

Thank you for your reply. This is helpful. Thankfully, she loves just about any canned cat food; and, hopefully, she will not be deterred by the smell. By one drop of CDS do you mean undiluted mixed into her food, or do I need to dilute it further with water before adding? If I add water, how much do I add? If not, how can I get 1/4 or 1/8? Please forgive my ignorance. Another one of my cats just acted as if you was fighting back nausea while I was typing this, which she has done since I got her from the shelter last month, so I think I'll add the CDS to her food too. However, she doesn't eat all her food at one time so, hopefully, she will get enough of a dose to help her in her 1st sitting before the CDS becomes ineffective in her remaining portions. I apologize. I was thinking of MMS which is much harder to give to cats! One ml of CDS is equal to 3 drops MMS. So I should think just 1 or 2 drops of CDS mixed into a very small amount of wet food should do. Give them just enough that you think they will eat it right away, even if it is part of a teaspoon or so. Then try again once an hour for 8 hours.

Thank you so much for your invaluable guidance. So if I understand correctly, I shouldn't dilute it before adding it to the wet food. This should be fairly easy to do with the cat I just adopted since she grazes anyway and doesn't go outside or downstairs much yet, where the person I rent from lives. It may be a bit more difficult for the other cat since she goes downstairs, which I can't prevent, and my landlord lets her outside. But I will do my best to get as many doses into her throughout the day, which is also complicated by my going to work. Hopefully, she will stay upstairs with me tonight, and I will be able to give her a few doses. She loves to eat and, hopefully, will not be turned off by the smell. You are being so helpful, and I am so grateful for your assistance with my cats.

Your guidance worked wonderfully in getting the cats to take the CDS. The cat I recently adopted took 3 1-drop doses with no problem. About a half hour after the 4th dose, she used the litter box; and, her stool was runny so I gave her the rest of her dinner without any CDS. Perhaps I need to make sure she has more food mixed in with the 1 drop. My other cat had one dose, went downstairs and appeared at the door 2 hours later when I gave her another drop, with a 3rd following about an hour later before she disappeared downstairs. Neither one displayed any sign of nausea. Tomorrow I will try to give them 3 doses before I go to work and another 5 after I get back from work. Wonderful! As they adjust to it and the diarrhea stops then try upping their dose by another drop. I am not sure how much CDS a cat can take but bear in mind 1 ml CDS = 3 drops MMS. So if you want kitty to have an equivalent of 1 drop MMS then the CDS needs to increase a little bit as it can be tolerated. Do not rush it. Getting Kitty sick over it will do them no favors.

Thank you so much for your continued support and guidance. This morning I made sure I mixed a bit more food with the one drop. My recently adopted kitty has had 2 doses so far. She eagerly went to eat the second dose and had a fit of what I believe is congestion. For the last couple of days I have been hearing congestion in her breathing while she's sleeping. As soon as she recovered, she ate all her food; and, so far no diarrhea or nausea symptoms. The other cat had one dose and disappeared downstairs again. She has not come back yet, even though I have tried calling her. She is probably out of earshot. Hopefully, she will be back before I go to work so she isn't hungry, though my landlord is constantly giving the cats cheese. Thank you again for your helpfulness.
