I talked with the expert at my local health food store about the Xylitol today. They said that it helps with keeping the biofilm in the mouth down and so may help fight tooth decay as well as being a good sweetener. The downside may be that it also loosens the bowels if taken in excess. So I think most people could get away with two "packets" of Xylitol a day without any "loose bowels" but much more than that might be a problem with diarea. Just FYI.
