Hello Alanti,

The answer to your question of whether or not changing your diet from vegan would help you with protocol 2000 is YES it would. Having worked with Mark Grenon in the field I can say that people who eat a balanced diet respond better to MMS in general and tend to restore health quicker than those with vegan or even vegetarian diets.

Hello Al.
I tried to introduce some Italian "prosciutto crudo" in the morning and I didn't experience major problems with MMS2.

The main reason most people get sick to begin with is due to a lack of essential nutrients in their food - vitamins, minerals, proteins, fatty acids, anti-oxidants. The secondary reason for most illnesses is toxins (poisons) in the food - such as processed sugar, wheat gluten, processed seed oils such as soybean oil & Canola oil, soybean isolates, artificial sweeteners such as aspartame, MSG, artificial colors, fluoridated water.

If a person is trying to restore their health, obviously they should at least temporarily stop eating toxic foods. And instead, they should eat only foods that are rich in the essential nutrients their body is lacking.

Most vitamins and minerals come from green, leafy vegetables such as kale, spinach, turnip greens, watercress. Also cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli, cabbage, brussel sprouts. Since cooking destroys the enzymes in these vegetables and substantially weakens the vitamins, they should be eaten raw. When vegetables are boiled, the minerals such as potassium leach out into the water - and then get poured down the drain. So if you must cook your vegetables, they should be only lightly steamed. The longer food is cooked, and the higher the temperature - the more the nutritional value is destroyed. Generally speaking, any vegetable or fruit that can be eaten raw is beneficial for a health recovery diet - though no more than 1 piece of fruit per day should be eaten due to high sugar content.

Fat soluble vitamins such as A, D, E, K2 are mostly found in animal fats such as butter, non-hydrogenated lard and beef tallow. Vegans can get these in lesser amounts from virgin coconut oil, hemp seed oil, unadulterated olive oil, unrefined sesame seed oil - all of which are beneficial in a health recovery diet, and can be used as the basis for an oil & vinegar salad dressing.

Sugar, grain, coffee and alcoholic beverages should be (at least temporarily) eliminated from any health recovery diet. Calories (energy) should come primarily from vegetable fats - virgin coconut oil, avocados, olives, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, raw sunflower seeds, pecans, walnuts, macadamia nuts.

Omega 3 fatty acids are very important to health recovery, and are most richly found in oily fish such as salmon, sardines, and cod liver oil. I recommend taking therapeutic doses of fish oil or krill oil capsules. One should take a multi-vitamin & mineral supplement that provides zinc and selenium, which are often deficient even in a good diet. In addition, a daily supplement at least 400mg of magnesium glycinate or magnesium malate or magnesium citrate should be taken. A daily kelp tablet providing iodine can be taken. One hour spent in the mid-day sun each day will provide all the Vitamin D you need. Otherwise take 10,000 I.U. of Vitamin D each day, and 2 Vitamin K2 capsules to go with it.

One should drink at least 2 liters of pure water each day. Salt everything to taste, but use only "real" sea salt or pink Himalayan salt.

While you can eat all the raw meat you want, there is no health benefit to eating cooked animal flesh. Cooking meat destroys the enzymes it contains which are needed for digestion, and over-taxes your stomach's ability to produce hydrochloric acid. Animal protein produces copious amounts of sulfuric acid, uric acid, and many other acids which are difficult to neutralize, and diminish your stores of calcium and potassium - which in turn can lead to heart ailments, kidney stones, gout, and numerous other ailments. For a health recovery diet, I suggest you (at least temporarily) cut back on or eliminate cooked animal flesh. Butter, cheese, raw milk, raw or lightly cooked eggs are healthy foods. Lightly cooked fish and seafood are beneficial.

Finally, a Vitamin C deficiency plays a role in virtually every human ailment. Most people are deficient in Vitamin C to begin with since there isn't much in their food. Smoking cigarettes, taking any kind of pharmaceutical drug or narcotic drug rapidly depletes Vitamin C. Vitamin C fights against every kind of microbial infection and every kind of toxin in the body - so if a person is sick, you can take for granted that their Vitamin C stores are already completely used up. Therefore, it is important to take at least 1,000mg of Vitamin C at the end of the day - 1.5 or 2 hours after the last dose of MMS.
