I work with small animals, mostly cat rescue in my spare time and I currently have a 10 pound cat with FIP. He needs help fast. He isn't tolerating MMS unactivated but seems to be ok with MMS2. He needs 32mg every two hours. Does anyone know of a good brand to weigh that small of a weight? Or any idea how much of a spoon that would be?

spoon is volume and will differ by different size spoons.

I use the AWS-2000 scale, which I got off of ebay but it doesn't go down that far - the lowest is .1 gram, and you would need to get to .03 gram.

maybe someone else will have a suggestion.

MMS2? That is pool shock. How are you getting it down him?! It is not given to animals as it requires a capsule and a great deal of water.

I put some food in the bottom of a syringe (about half up) and then drop in some MMS2 granules through the top of the syringe and then cover that with some more food (usually Hills AD canned cat food) and then syringe it into his mouth to be followed up immediately with 10 or more syringes of food (without granules) and then I syringe some water into his mouth. Each feeding is about a baby food jar of food.

Do you think the food is totally neutralizing the effect? Will not having it in a pill hurt him? Where to buy and what size pills would I use for 32 mg? (pilling a cat is not easy and sometimes impossible)

Last night I tried a half dose of activated MMS before bedtime and he totally drooled it out. Un-activated half doses go down ok but then he vomits his food soon after.

Any guesses on how many granules would make up 32mg? (If I can't find a scale)

I was taking my cues from Protocol 4000 (using MMS2) and trying to adapt it to my situation in that MMS is difficult for him even though I have it available. I did just try a quarter activated dose sandwiched between food in one syringe and lots more food thereafter. I will see.how this works although MMS2 is much easier to deal with in my situation. Cat food does have preservatives and I am trying to use one without vitamin C in it.

Does the fact that animals make their own vitamin C (unlike humans) mean they may need higher doses to compensate?

Meanwhile I am not having luck finding an appropriate scale online.

Hi!
I really don't recommend MMS2 for animals but if you should go forth with this, MMS2 is used by granule not weight. People start with 1 granule in a capsule and a lot of water. People will work up to say a half a gram in weight but certainly not a little kitty.
Be careful, all the best to you and if you would, let us know how it all works out!

Sounds like your idea of using food is a good one. According to protocol this should be done every 2 hours. Can kitty eat that much food? As long as the food does not have vitamin C added it should be fine. With animals, MMS is often given with broth/food in order to get it down them. It works.

Sorry can't help you with the weight problem.

Yea, I would not want to pill a cat either! :)

I am using this part (below) of Protocol 4000 for MMS2 as my guide in dosing. I am assuming 2/4 of a teaspoon is the same as half of a teaspoon although I don’t know why he wouldn’t just say half if that is what he meant so I was confused by that. He mentions getting a scale and speaks in terms of grams, milligrams, etc. I guess I need to brush up on capsule information but I am thinking lots of granules will fit into a capsule, maybe dozens if not more? I was also substituting cat food for honey as described in his “honey” technique where no capsules are used. I was just unclear on how many granules 32mg would be to mix in it which brought me here for possible scale suggestions or spoon size suggestions.
Jim writes in his Protocol 4000 post:
A 200 Pound Person ...
... would take half a gram of calcium hypochlorite every other hour for 12 hours. That could be:
o • A 00 size capsule completely filled, or
o • 2/4 of a teaspoon of the granules (in a couple of smaller size capsules if the 00 size is not available).
The best way to get an accurate half a gram of calcium hypochlorite, is buying a scale.
o Always drink at least 8 ounces of water with any dose of MMS2.
A 25 pound (11.4 kg) child ...
... would need 62.5 mg each hour. Take half as much as for the 50 pound child given above.
• For smaller children (CATS?) ...
... please decrease the dose appropriately for their weight. For example, half of 25 pounds would be close to 12 pounds so use half as much hypochlorite or half a size 4 capsule.
o All children should take at least 4 ounces of water with the MMS2 dose.

Oh, forgot to answer your food question. He has stopped eating. I have to force feed at least 1 can of food into him to prevent him from going into liver failure (hepatic lipidosis). Cats in that condition can usually take small amounts of food throughout the day. I have a leukemia cat I have to feed every hour or she will vomit it all up. Since he isn't in liver failure yet I thought a little food substituted in the "honey" method would work best but I could try dosing him away from his food. I just thought this would be more palatable plus take care of two issues in one.
