Could I please get some founded opinions regarding the difference of using Citric Acid 50% and HCl 4or 5% as activator to receive ClO2-.
I only see 'week' acids like Citric acid mentioned in the literature and the internet.
Is HCL suitable to receive the same result.
P.S. I am not interested in the taste difference, only whether HCL can be used to get the same result.

I think you'll need to try both and see. I have personal issues with HCl (based on a surgery I had 10+ years ago) -
We do have autism moms who switch back and forth between the activators for their kiddos. You just need to find the one that works the best for you.

In addition to Steve comments. The use of citric acid for long time can increase the grow of some Citrobacteria that can cause Diarrhea. The HCL never will cause those effect.
