dumb question about replies to posts

If I want to answer someone's question in the recent topic section what do I click on? When I click on "quick reply" or "reply"my answer ends up in the recent topic section instead of remaining as a continuing thread to a posted message. Do I need to hit subscribe first?

WHen you double click on the message it will open at the beginning of the thread. If the thread have more than one page, a number in a rectangle in the bottom of the message will show. Click in the higher number and you going to move the last page of message. Then go to the end of that page and click reply to the last message on the thread.

The "Recent Topics" is not a folder but just a filter of the most recent posts. So when you reply to a post you are actually posting in the original folder for that post.
