horses eye

woke up this morning to find my horse has a scratch under his eye and the white of the eyes are red ...now this is a horse that has had uveitis attacks in the past....I would like to put some drops in his eyes ...but what recepie?

Might I suggest a product called Vetericyn Wound and Skin Spray It can be purchased at farming stores. Here is a link about it. vetericyn.com/

It supposedly can be sprayed in the eyes and not sting. You do not want to be stinging the eyes of a several hundred pound animal. It is hard on ones toes when they come back to earth!

MMS would be great if it didn't sting. Has anyone tried spray some CDH in there eyes to see if there is any stinging?

thank you horsefeathers...I'd be curious to know if and how you use MMS with your horses....as for stinging the horses eye maybe your right ...don't want to do that !!! I think I will just make a 2% solution of sodium chlorite

I, myself, am a bit fearful of MMS in horses as they do not vomit. They colic instead. It would be safe on the outside of a horse though it does sting a bit.
This summer or late spring I want to try the new CDH. But, have to wait until I can get to my horse frequently throughout the day. They are not on the same property as I am and winter makes it much to difficult all the way around.

Now, that said, some people have used it as an IV in horses with success. I do not have these abilities, equipment or knowledge in this area.

Vetericyn was advertised a few years ago as being safe when sprayed in the eyes. I would suggest going to their site and investigate.

again confused about the CDH? I've made my own eye solution of 2% sodium chlorite and water and put some drops in his eyes ...will keep ya posted
