I'm so hoping for help from any/many of you...
I've had my 1 yr old F kitty on MMS since the weekend. She began peeing uncontrollably; it had blood in it. She sat a couple of days straining while peeing and in obvious pain. She's also been shivering non stop since then (apparently she has a high temp of 41), but a coupe of days ago she began eating a bit again Mostly now the pee started running yellow again but with a pinkish/cream discharge right in the middle of it.
About 4 doses ago I upped the MMS from a drop every hour or so to 2. It hasn't seemed to help change much. I am terribly worried.
She's not sterilised and I caught the neighbouring cat with her recently. In fact, I thought she was pregnant a couple of months ago and I've wondered if she miscarried. Does anyone know whether tissue not expelled can cause these symptoms?

Thanking you in advance
:-) SK

Hi,

How great you tried the MMS first with your cat. I am a cat rescuer and have worked in shelters for many years - and had many, many cats in my life as companions. ALL of the symptoms you describe are of a VERY serious urinary tract infection with pus and blood mixed (the pinkish-cream discharge), high fever (shivers), uncontrolled bloody bleeding, etc. Cats have a VERY difficult time in clearing infections without FAST accurate treatment - they have a harder time than we do.

With all due respect and even with my LOVE of CDS /MMS, .......due to how critical timing is in this condition, I encourage you to take your cat the a vet immedaitely - timing is very important! I have seen this before in cats. If I were in this situation, since time is of the ESSENCE and the dosage experimentation has not worked, I would go with the veterinarian prescribed pharmaceutical IMMEDIATELY since it will be literally life saving. Also, the cat is in much pain and needs quick relief. Then after the cat is healed of the infection, I would then follow up with probiotics from the pet store since it is formulated and dosed correctly just for cats.

Not to alarm you, but an untreated urinary tract infection can lead to permanent kidney damage and even a worse outcome, not to mention the pain and suffering. THis is why I would not wait ANY longer with trying to self-treat the cat. Please go to the vet immediately. You certainly tried your best and with much love for your cat, and that is wonderful. Using a pharmaceutical in the doctor's accurate dosage is far better for the cat at this point than delaying treatment and risking the life of your beloved cat.

I will be thinking of you and your sweet cat! I'd love to hear the follow-up. I wish you both all the best!

Bless you!

Hi Sunny

And THANK YOU so much for your response...
Your experience was exactly what I neeed to hear about. And now that I've done more research, I'm pretty sure she has a condition called pyometra - where pus fills the uterus. Apparently, it can also mimic pregnancy or she may have miscarried due to it..I won't know about that one.

I was alarmed when I read your comments, but I needed to be and felt it to be serious. In desperation, on Wednesday I did go to the shelter vet who would only provide antibiotics if I signed an agreement to get her spayed immediately after treatment. There's also a male vet there who's more of a Doc Frankenstein and did something unethical to my beloved other cat I had to put out of her misery earlier this year. And there was a 50/50 chance he'd be doing the op.
I needed a day to think about it yesterday, but was so anxious due to understanding your 'critical timing' factor.
Although my inner voice had said clearly the MMS would work, when I saw no sign of improvement on the double dose yesterday, I was planning to go back for the antibiotics this am, although still continued with the MMS and CS. All the same symptoms seemed to be continuing including constant licking of the genitals.

Well, I THINK there's been a turning, more than 24 hrs later on the increased MMS dosage...for the better :) And that started last night with her body shaking less, she slept more and just had 1 or 2 long yellow pees minus the discharge. And NO uncontrollable pee on the bed for the first time - my house stinks to high heaven! Also, a friend did Reiki on her from afar with a team last night. Then, this am she ate even better, slightly runny poo, can't asses the discharge/not yet and I saw her for the first time in a week actually running and jumping to catch a butterfly in the garden! I'm so hopeful...but still haven't got the antibiotics.
My inner voice has told me to keep the MMS double dose up for one more, then revert to 1 drop. Judging from her past inconsistent appetite, I'm now thinking she's had this condition for quite a time already, where the inflammation must have reared up cyclically, without me knowing what was going on. At least I think I know what it is now...

Thank you tremendously for your input in this Sunny - it's been really appreciated. I will continue to update you on Sierra's progress.
I hope this may help another experiencing similarly here also.
