I'm hoping to get all my ducks in a row so I can start the Kalcker Parasite Protocol in a couple weeks (Sept 2013). I need help figuring out how many caps of castor oil to take.

On page 155 of "Healing the Symptoms Known as Autism" Kerri Rivera says to take 10 mg of castor oil per each kilo of body weight. I weigh 163 lbs which converts to about 74 kilos (Please, dear friends, correct any incorrect math...) According to the information on page 155, I would need to take 740 mg per each dose of castor oil.

I've purchased castor oil caps (from Heritage) that are 725 mg per each cap. If my math is correct, each 725 mg cap would be 15 mg shy of my dose.

So- Would taking a 15 mg smaller dose be okay? Or would overdosing by taking two caps (which would be 705 mg more than Kerri's recommendation), be best?

p.s. BTW I refuse to take the castor oil liquid because I expect there would be a foul taste and texture!

In her book, (p.167, top paragraph) Kerri sais to take 15 - 30ml of Castor Oil (which is 1 - 2 Tablespoons (Tbsp) So, why not start off with 1 Tablespoon for a week, and see how it goes, and then play between 1-2 Tbsp's ?

Placing it in capsules of course before consuming.

Thanks for your reply, Clint! I can imagine that trying to get castor oil into caps is going to be quite challenging. Messy and my gosh it will take big and many caps to comply with the 2 TBS dose.

I asked my Question in the MMS autism forum and was told by someone there that I should do what it says on the bottle of castor oil caps. If I do that, I'll be taking 725 mg per dose, which is considerably less than 2TBS.

I am frustrated by the confusing dosing information. The problem with the castor oil is that I cannot even get past the thought of swallowing Tablespoonsfull of castor oil. Have you done that? If so, can you tolerate the texture and taste?

I'd also like to know if (and how) parents get their kids to take it by the spoonful...

Joyce, there is some flexibility in all the protocols. As Jim says, this is not rocket science. This makes it a bit harder for people who tend to want one ""right and wrong/black and white" definitive way. Even, in Jim Humble's works, you will find such statements as "continue until well" (which translates to may be less than 3 weeks to may be up to a year) - The issue always is finding what works for you.

The person who said to follow the bottle directions is a mod who is well versed in the PP protocol - and has constant contact daily with Kerri - you can follow her directions -

When I dose castor oil, I dose it by the tablespoon, and it's fine. The taste doesn't bother me. I've had more than one type of castor oil, and some taste better than others. Surprisingly enough, the non-organic one from WalMart tasted the best. Small bottle, though.

I'm currently doing fish oil (for something else) and using the Carlson's Norwegian, which has a mild lemon taste to it. (not recommending it instead of castor oil, just a part of the story) - Even though tarted up with the lemon juice and others swearing it was easy to take, I didn't find it so. Then one day I accidentally got just a little bit of my xylitol/stevia mixture on the back of the spoon, downed my oil and was surprised to find that it was just fine.

Mom's with kiddos who have problems are doing various things - just whatever works. For adults you might try putting it in a tablespoon of applesauce or banana - see if that works.

I agree - making your own caps would be a PITA <G>.

Upon continued study of the Kalcker parasite protocol in "Healing the Symptoms Known as Autism" I realize that when I asked about castor oil softgel dosing, I mixed up the castor oil info with another question I have about Pyrentel Pamoate. I had questions about both, but intended to ask about one at a time, but got them mixed up. I admire the moderataors of this forum for the integrity and effort required in responding intelligently and helpfully to even mixed up questions... Thanks to Pam and Michael especially! I will ask my next question in another thread to keep this as clear an concise as possible.

Joyce, I've done the PP for 3 months...at first I did the castor oil straight...then I used a straw directly in the bottle putting the straw as far back in my throat as I could and that was not so bad at all. I could barely taste it. Then I got caps and did 9 or 10 at a time. It felt like a good amount and seemed to be working. There were no bad effects like diarrhea or anything so that is what I will continue to do! Good luck, Kaia
