Can I use a glass bottle with a metal lid instead of a plastic lid?

Chlorine dioxide oxidizes metals, I would use a plastic lid, or I would place several layers of plastic wrap between the lid and the jar - plus, you need a tight fit for the lid - if you can smell a smell like chlorine, you're probably leaking gas.

You can use a plastic bottle - it has to be HDPE or PETE. I'd store it in glass, though, after it's done. There's a second video to this set:
