I did. 2 drops MMS / 1 drop citric acid.pam wrote: Straight MMS (unactivated) is highly alkaline (1 number down from the top of the scale). It will burn if left on for longer than about a few minutes, and is only used in rare cases - You would only use activated MMS or CDS on the skin for longer than that. I'm sorry, I misunderstood, I thought you had put activated MMS on the skin.

If you are using 2 drops MMS and 50% citric acid, you need 2 drops CA and to allow it to activate for at least 20 seconds.
That said, on the skin, we also dilute it. It is rare that it is used undiluted on the skin.

Hi Sushi,
How did the burn heal in the end? I have a burn just like yours.
I read this link and thought MMS sounded safe and therefore didn't use the proper precaution: mmswiki.is/index.php/Skin_care
The article needs some noticeable warning at the top or something to stop stupid people like me.
I did pretty much the same thing. I activated about 10 drops of MMS and diluted it in about 25ml water. I soaked a pad in it and left it on for a LONG time. It stinged just a little, not that bad at all. The area is now a chemical burn with brown damaged skin that tore easily when I scratched it with my fingernail, and around it is red inflamed skin. The burnt area is roughly 5 cm squared.
Help?

How Sodium chlorite is made?
It is sold in solution or as a solid. The technical grade is made up of about 80% sodium chlorite and the rest is sodium chloride. Large scale production is based on a reaction of chlorine dioxide in a sodium hydroxide solution. Hydrogen peroxide is also present as the reducing agent.
At my work the sodium hydroxide is 20% and the hydrogen peroxide is 15%, so quite corrosive.
