Hello.

My dog was diagnosed with Degenerative Myelopathy (the canine version of MS) in Nov 2017. I started her on the MMS Starting Protocol on 3/2/18 and have moved up to the Protocol 1000 Plus on 3/10/18.

What I am currently doing is making the Cup 2 as directed by the chart, Protocol for Animals Legend on pg 294 (Cup 2 is 8 drops of MMS1 dose in 4 oz water).

I have the MMS Health Recovery Guidebook, but after reading the directions for Protocol 1000 Plus, I am still somewhat unclear if I have understood the correct way to administer DMSO.

When I proceeded to Protocol 1000 Plus, I made two separate Cup 2 mixtures (one that contains MMS1 and one that contains MMS1 with the 24 drops of DMSO added as cited on pg 296). I add drops from each separate Cup 2 mixture to an additional 1 - 2 tablespoons water then dispense via a syringe on an hourly basis making a new Cup 2 with DMSO every 3rd hour.

I am unclear as to whether I am correct in preparing two separate mixtures. The reason I am unclear is that the Dosage Chart on pg 300 at the bottom of the chart states, " For each drop from Cup 2 add 1 drop of DMSO" but on pg 296 it states to add 24 drops of DMSO to Cup 2.

It left me somewhat confused, but after rereading multiple times, I decided it must mean to prepare two separate Cup 2 mixtures then adding 1 drop of DMSO ( the Cup 2 containing MMS1 plus 24 drops DMSO) to the drops from the Cup 2 mixture (containing only MMS1).

I've been administering my dog Protocol 1000 Plus in this manner but began to question again this morning whether I understood it correctly. I hope I have not thoroughly confused anyone with my explanation but if anyone can offer any clarification on whether I am doing the DMSO correctly ( two separate mixtures) is much appreciated.

Glad to be here.

The animal protocol for P1000+ is detailed and confusing.

I think you have identified a conflict in instructions.

Going to pass on your question to G2C HQ and hope someone there will respond.

CLO2,

Thank you so much for your response and assistance.

I wanted to say as well for any others who may lurking here (as I was) who are contemplating giving their dog(s) MMS that my dog, who will be eleven next month, has had zero negative effects thus far ( I began MMS on 3/2/18).

Also, I chose the HCL activator instead of citric acid due to my dog have a history of digestive issues (her digestive issues and eating poop went away when I went to raw food feeding). However, DM has caused a return of some digestive issues (slowing of the bowels leading to constipation and elimination issues) but I have seen an improvement with that since using MMS. She goes daily now and has a few times this week gone twice. It may not seem like it, but that a huge deal and I am thankful for that improvement.

Again, thank you so much.

Hi MsMAJ.

Just wondering how your dog is going on MMS? I also have a dog with Degenerate Myelopathy and am about to start her on MMS.

Also did you get an answer on preparing Protocol 1000 Plus?

Cheers
Bob

So sorry to hear that your dog has DM and no, I never got a reply on clarifying the preparation of Protocol 1000 Plus. My experience with MMS was overall positive but unfortunately it did not result in a recovery as I had hoped but I do believe it help improved her digestive issues.

As for Protocol 1000 Plus, I just used it as I describe in my initial post as I didn't have anything else to go by but my interpretation of what I read in the book. I do hope the Chapter dealing with animals gets better clarified in the future so we can ensure that we are giving our pets the best method and chance for healing.

I followed the rest of the Protocol exactly and Iresulted in no negative issues for my dog. The syringes were a def must to administer accurately.

I still give MMS to help keep her free of heart worms or other nasty stuff because I will no longer give her vaccines, heart worm pills, or flea/tick meds or expose her to anything else with toxins as I feel it will only make her DM worse and may cause it to progress faster. I use Cedarcide Tickshield as needed for ticks/fleas, it's Deet free and uses Cedarwood Oil.

My dog has continued to deteriorate and is now being unable to stand or walk w/o help. Her back legs still work right now although not great but at least not paralyzed but she lacks the muscle strength (at least it appears to me to be that) to stand up and/or walk w/o help. I finally had to buy a harness to help her in and out of the car.

My dog was given DNA genetic test Oct 2017 and was informed positive result in Nov 2017 but I noticed subtle issues as early as last Summer 2016. My point is that she is 9 months out from diagnosis which is a good sign as all info on DM prognosis seems to be that dogs will get passed the point of no return usually within 6 to 12 months of diagnosis. I do think MMS has been helpful in slowing down the disease and even if not, it cannot hurt to give it for reasons I stated above.

I used Dr. Clemmons protocol and I found it caused a lot of stomach upset when using the Acetylcysteine and the Aminocaproic Acid together. She visibly had pain but she also suffered since a puppy with digestive issues so made it worse. The Aminocaprioic Acid alone didn't seem to bother her as much. Basically, I saw zero improvement with Dr Clemmons and saw some negative effects.

I will NEVER give up searching for a cure and will continue to research IOT find anything (i.e. supplements or otherwise) to cure or at least, to slow or retard the prognosis. What I can say is that she is now 11 yrs old and still bright eyed and wants to play and is not in pain. Her last Vet checkup was a few weeks ago and the Dr said she looked really good.

I have begun to give her MSM (from PC NetwoPX) and L-Glutamine (Now brand) to try to help with building up muscle strength and repair. I also give real Vit C (Pure Synergy in power) and full spectrum Vit E (tocopherols Solar 200 IU and tocotriencols Now brand ) along with Nutritional Yeast for B-Complex. I've even give two drops of Nascent iodine (Global Healing Center/Dr. Group) and occasionally 1/2 tsp of Dulse. I feed Raw food diet and give real beef bone broth. Sardines too and I like Answers Fish broth (stinks but she loves it.) Also, she has developed anxiety especially separation anxiety which she never had. I suspect it has to do with her DM as she has to be aware of her limitations and it makes her anxious. I give her CBD oil and it helps a lot (Pet Releaf is one I've used among a few others).

I apologize for the long post I hope you don't mind I just know how awful it is to watch our dogs go through this and if I can pass along some of the things I've learned and done after hours and hours of research then I wanted to do it.

I think there is a private message feature on this site (Ive never used it) if you have any other questions as time go on or just want to pass along anything you might learn.

Hope some of this helps. Sorry if there are any typos I got tired of rereading for mistakes. lol

Thanks very much for the long reply, it's very much appreciated.

My dog is a nearly 40kg German Shepherd who has trouble walking and falls over a lot. She usually can get up by herself but sometimes gives up trying and waits for help. Apart from the DM she is very healthy, very bright and loves to play. She loves it when the grandkids arrive. She obviously knows her limitations but at times still tries to chase the ball.

Her diet is mainly raw. Daily she has Vitamin E, Vitamin B formula, Hemp seed oil, CoQ10, Tumeric, Chlorella and 2 special herbal mixtures. 1 is for DM and the other is an anti-inflammatory.

I realise that a cure for this horrible disease is probably wishful thinking but I'm hoping that MSM will at least slow it down.

Hello. Sorry about your furbaby. You should contact Dr Charles Loops, DVM who is a holistic veterinary who helps many dogs all over the country from cancer, autoimmune issues, and lots of other ailments. He’s located in Pittsboro, NC and it would definitely be worth giving his office a call. Good luck to you and your baby.

Thank you for your kind words.  However, that post was back in 2018 and my sweet girl crossed the Rainbow Bridge in July 2019.  She fought the good fight and I did everything I knew how to do but when one starts from a place of zero knowledge it takes a lot time to learn.  Through it all she was a trooper and taught me much about love, patience, compassion, strength friendship, loyalty, joy and happiness.  I will forever be grateful to her for the lessons.  I have heard many people say they are a better person because of another human being, but I say I am a better person today because of my dog.  I type with tears streaming down my face but a heart filled with gratitude for the having had the honor and privilege of being her guardian.  She was my Battle Buddy for twelve years and her service to me shall never be forgotten.  My new pup who I rescued off the street is getting the full benefit of everything I learned during that time so she can have a more healthy life.  I will make note of Dr. Loops should I find that I ever need assistance.  Thank you again.

Oh no I’m so sorry😭💔 I totally understand about your furbaby making you a better person. I feel the same exact way about mine. My furbaby is my life and I’d give mine in heartbeat for her. We had to rush her to the ER vet last week bc she wasn’t breathing good. She’s an English bulldog, she’ll be 8 in September. I bottle fed her since she was 2 weeks old. Her mom got mastitis:( so she is my sidekick, shadow, ride or die, etc….anyway the vet said her trachea is very small and may need surgery. But he put her on 4 diff meds and wants to see her back this Friday for a re-check. She’s very high risk for surgery being a bulldog, but then with her age and a small trachea it makes it even worse. I cried like a baby the whole time the vet was talking to us. I’m terrified of her having to have surgery. Idk what I wd do if something happened to her. She is my everything. But the vet said he’ll get to her skin when her breathing is under control. He said she has several things going on. I’m praying she don’t have the dreaded Cushings disease. I fed her a high quality food, no vaccines, only filtered water, no flea or tick meds, so idk how how this happened or even why. The only thing is she has real bad separation anxiety when I leave her. I left for 2 weeks in July and she was home with my hubby and daughter but when I came back she had a bad hot spot from stressing. This has all basically stemmed from that. So of course I feel awful. I’m hoping the DMSO I just got will help her skin.

Your post made me cry as I can definitely relate. Once I get her breathing taken care of I want to take her to Dr. Charles Loops and get him to check her out and help get her better. You are an angel for taking a baby off the street and giving it a good home. Bless you🙏🏼♥️
