Hello, I'm new to this group and not sure if I posted this under the proper category, so I am reposting it here. Please forgive me if I'm still not in the right area but this is the only category I see that mentions animals.

I found this group quite by accident, but since everything happens for a reason, I don't know why I'm so amazed that I did :) Just a day ago, I found out about DMSO through the Earth Clinic. I saw MMS mentioned a few times but was still working on what DMSO was. I came across a link for a you tube video where I watched Mr. Humble and was completely captivated. I wanted to know more about the church but then the thought hit me that maybe this could help my FIV+ cat (Figaro). So I went to Mr. Humble's website, got one of his books on my kindle, zoomed to the animal section but there was not too much mention about cats and dosage. So I googled it and wouldn't you know? here I am at the church that was mentioned in the YouTube video! So I guess this is where I'm supposed to start lol

If it seems I'm getting ahead of myself here it's because I'm concerned that my cat MAY be entering a 2nd stage of a skin allergy he suffers from and that has definitely been made worse (or turned into an opportunist infection maybe?) because of his FIV+ status. This change is just happening over this last month which is why I feel so rushed to get him started on MMS. He was diagnosed only a year ago and after several months of hard work, he has put on a few pounds and is in very good physical health. Back to the skin allergy...It became so bad when he was diagnosed that the only way to get it under control was with shots of Depomedrol. It was a last ditch effort as he was literally tearing his skin off and the secondary infections were killing him. I was so hesitant because the depo would suppress his immune system which of course is not what you want to do when dealing with AIDS. I literally begged the vet to do it as it was against her better judgement. He has had 6 months of wonderful :) with depo shots every 6 weeks until this Feb, when his Jan shot only lasted a little over 3 weeks. Here we are just about at the 3 week mark again and his itching has started up again. So long story short, pretty soon the shots will not work any longer. My only option will be to put him to sleep as I will not see him suffer like that again. Just from the few stories I have read about MMS and the video I watched, I am convinced this MMS can save him. I know this is not a cat forum and I am so sorry for posting this whole story here but this is right where I was led and I don't know what I should do first. I do not want to see the vet because she already expressed at our last visit, her concern that the meds are now only lasting half the time they previously did and pretty soon they wouldn't work at all, so in other words prepare myself for the inevitable. I sensed no optimism at all from her :(

I'm very intimidated by the book I purchased and honestly am not even sure If Figaro has the time left for me to read & absorb the book and follow the protocols. I don't even have a good understanding of it all yet. Is there anything you can tell me or break it down for me somehow, like what's the bottom line of this, in a nutshell? Or maybe even point me in the right direction? I may have a day or 2 left before the itching becomes unbearable for him, so this is extremely time sensitive. I'm so hoping you can help because I absolutely know the vet cannot. She has only one solution at this point. Thank you very much in advance for any help or advice you can offer and thank you so much for reading this and again, I'm sorry it's so lengthy. Much love & respect, Teresa & Figaro

First a warm welcome to you,

At first the data in Jim Humble's book may seem a bit overwhelming but it is actually quite simple, especially with animals who respond very well to MMS1.
It is never too late to start a protocol. Even stage 4 cancers can respond favorably. So do not give up!
The main mistake you could make would be to start too strong and too fast. Animals tend to like MMS as long as it doesn't make them sick, which can happen if you use too high a dosage. So start small (maybe 1/4 or 1/8 drop in your cat's drinking water), and see if it works. Reduce the dose if nausea or diarrhea happens, if not, ramp it up gradually.
Remember also that this is a gas: ideally you should prepare a new cup every hour for maximum effect.

Best of health to you and Figaro.

In addition to putting it in his drinking water I would suggest getting a very small amount of activated MMS in wet cat food. Again, start at 1/4 to 1/8 drop in a bit of wet food to get him to eat it. Do this as in Protocol 1000. If all goes well then next day up the dose just a tiny bit and so on. Small animals don't need large doses.

I would even try making some CDS and spray it on his body or any open wounds. From what I hear this would not sting.
Here is a link I found for making it: mmswiki.is/index.php?title=How_to_make_CDS_-_Chlorine_Dioxide_Solution

I think ClO2 had a good link for making it but apparently I didn't save it so hopefully he'll pop on here and give it.

Thanks for the welcome and the info :) I don't know what CDS is but I'm trying to read everything i can. Regarding adding it to his food, I'm a little leery about that because the worst thing would be if I caused him to have a food aversion. Cats are different than dogs and will get fatty liver after just 3 days of not eating, and then his problems will be bigger than his AIDS problem. Figaro is a horrible cat to dose with anything. He knows when i add the smallest amt of anything to his food and then refuses to eat. Even things most cats would never notice. I have dosed many cats before in all my years of cat rescue, orally and subcutaneously but he is about as impossible as one can be. I do have a thought tho... in the DMSO info i was reading, would it be possible to apply the MMS topically, with DMSO? As of right this minute, he has no open wounds from scratching, just a few bald spots, no skin is broken yet. This could change fast, of course, with the more he scratches. I'm trying hard to avoid putting the cone on but I will if i have to. It would absolutely prevent him licking anything i applied topically. Any thoughts on this??

Wow Horse feathers, I clicked on that link and geez... it looks like a chemistry lab. Very scary...chemistry is to me. Ok well, lets say he responds well to the MMS, and since he as yet does not have any open wounds, maybe the MMS will be sufficient without the CDS? Or you think I should do both anyway? (Where is Walter White when i need him? LOL)

I would try the MMS if it were me. As long as there are no open wounds it should not sting. Later if you wish make some CDS and see how that goes.

So to apply topically, use the same protocol 1000 you mentioned? And if so, do you think i should work my way up to that dose slowly, as HariSeldon suggested for the drinking water? or just start out at that dose? he is an 11 lb cat. Also, (so sorry to keep bothering you) but I found the basic pack of MMS & activator but not sure which activator i need? with HCL 4% or without? Do you think it's necessary to apply it in a hairless spot (and also swab first with peroxide maybe?) so no contaminants that might be on fur can be absorbed with DMSO?

Hi Teresa. If your cat has an infection and meds are not working, try getting MMS into Figaro one way or another.

CDS would be excellent to apply topically as it is 100% chlorine dioxide (CLO2) and does not contain any of the original ingredients, MMS + activator. Sounds like you don't have time to make or buy CDS, however. And if Figaro is a fussy eater, MMS1 in food will probably not be tolerated.

There is one method of MMS delivery that might work and should not have any taste problem. That would be to give your cat just MMS not activated and rely on stomach acid to activate the MMS, releasing CLO2 in the stomach. Best not to add to food, but instead add to water. Try using a 1 or 3 ml/cc syringe filled (no needle!) with water and 1 drop of MMS and squirt it down the cats throat. Is your cat de-clawed?
