Hi my friend made CDS but we do not know concentration of it. We have test strips but we do not know how to read this properly us they look little different than showing by Jim on You Tube . The other question is if she used 15ml mms + 15ml citric aside for 1.5l water made by jungle method what the strength approximate can be and how to deluge it properly? I have problem with attaching the photos :(

It's hard to tell, based on what you've given us.

To test for ppm, combine 1mL of CDS and 9mL of water. I use a shot glass. Dip your chlorine dioxide (not chlorine, not PH) testing strip into that 1:9 mixture as per the directions on the bottle. (I think it's 2 second dip, then 10 second wait, but go by the direction) - determine the strength by the color swatch on the testing strip bottle. Multiply that number by 10 and you will have your PPMs per liter

If the number is "off the scale" high, (i.e., the swatch turns black) you're going to have to redo the test with 1mL of CDS and 19mL of water. Then multiply THAT amount by 20 to get your ppm/L

JH has tried to standardize the CDS to around 3000 ppm/L - there the dosing is 1mL is equivalent to 3 drops of MMS. I usually end up with 6000 ppm/L, and my dosing is .5 mL ..

I, personally, have found that it's easier for me to adjust the size of my doses to equal 3 drops of MMS than to dilute the mixture to equal 3000 ppm/L.

You have the 1-10. Most of us use the 1-500, because it is easier to use to get a good reading from.

Maybe one of the math wiz guys or gals can suggest the size of dilution to use the 1-10 strip. My guess is that it's going to be big - the testing method on the 3000 ppm/L gives you 8 ppm per drop equivalent - so you're going to need to test for 1 drop equivalents on the 1-10 testing strip. (and I have 2 containers of the 1-10 strips here, too, before I realized I needed the wider range :P )

I Just made my first attempt at making cds not exactly sure how much reverse osmosis I used, a wine bottleful I used the recomended test strips and the strength looks to be about 100 , when I placed one drop of the cds from my wine bottle on the test strip how do I work out from this what my hourly dose of 3 drops would be......

Given the information you have here, there's no way we can tell what the PPM is or what the dosage should be. A "wine bottle" is usually 750mL. The information we need is how you made it.
