If you follow that table you are making 34% solution unless they are weighting that amount of water but The volume of water + salt will be over 1300 ml. So is not one liter. Any Way that table is giving wrong information.

1000mg water - 28% = 720mg water + 280mg 80% SC flakes = 1000mg 28% SC solution

720mg water / 2.57 = 280mg 80% SC flakes

oh I been sitting here trying to understand pie making....when we're baking cakes....

720mg + 280 mg is not one liter, it is equivalent to the weight of one liter but not its volume.
the ole v/w trick....
instead it takes 340g SC added to 880 grams water to make 1 litre which weighs 1220 grams

nothin' to it....

A simple formula to make MMS - Just use the number 2.57

Multiply the amount of Sodium Chlorite you want to use by 2.57 and the answer will be how much water you need. (weight - any units you want to use)

Examples:

155 x 2.57 = 400 (rounded up)

Divide the amount of water you want to use by 2.57 and this is how much Sodium Chlorite you need. (weight)

400 / 2.57 = 155

Jb13 have a Better approch than the table. Keep in mind that distilled water density is 1 gram / mililiter.

Steve if you want The table to be correct remove the final volume because are not correct. If you want to keep your secret formula is ok with me is you business but When i try to follow The table as a Chemist shock me because one liter is 10 times 100 militer. So instead of 28 grams in 72 militer of water will be 280 grams in 720 militer of water. Is a simple percent rule no chemistry 101.

I understand what you are seeing BUT
The chart is correct
When we make 1L of MMS we need 880 grams water and 340 grams MMS 80% flake. This totals 1Liter of MMS that weighs 1220 grams solution by weight.
The confusion is weight and Volume measures.
1000g is not 1L, only 1000g of water is 1 Liter.

So what JB is doing is weight measures, measuring everything in grams and no volume measures.

I know this is confusing but I hope that helps clear it up.
The chart shows what ingredients in WEIGHT to add together to produce 1L of MMS 28% solution

If however you had 100% MMS solution and needed to make 28% you would pour 28 ml into volumetric container and fill with water to 1L mark. Now you have 28% from 100%

Steve, I never compare volume + weight, I said Water density is 1 gram / ML in other word the volume of water is equal to the weight.

I personally believe the table is confuse , I honesty believe the final column should be eliminated or use the term Aproximate. You have more experience working with Sodium Chlorite flakes so if you experience is that can Ignite if we try to reduce the flake to fine power, that a physical property of the Sodium Chlorite that was not aware off thank you for that.

We are not here trying to offend you job is trying to enhance the information. So dont take this discussion personally, like you are taking it right now.

My Apologize if I offend you. I did my solution weighting 280gram of Sodium Chlorite (80%) and disolve to the mark in a volumetric flask of 1000 ml. I did not reduce the flake to fine powder. I have a sonic bath so it disolve very quickly. But notice that have a lot of contamination that did not enter in solution.

Any other technical information that you can share. What Quality Control test did you perform to the batch before putting in the bottle?

Could it be we are doing it wrong? Dont want to alienate people that may advance our cause.

Please HELP us Archbishop Jim Humble.

As for crushing the flakes with enough friction they will ignite. If you put a flame to them you have a potential bomb.

Yes
Thank you Rob
We do not want to alienate GJP, Steve or anyone from MMS.
Just trying to get a clear understanding can take patience and guidance.
Thank you Steve.

GJP
I am committed to helping you understand this so please ask and be kind.

I saw things were getting heated a few days ago in this discussion and we do not want to alienate or lose any MMS members big or small.
Lets keep calm gentlemen and we will have ALL of us on the same page soon witha clear understanding, till the next comes along...

Thank you all.
