Hi Rev Ray,
Thanks for mentioning Dr. Max Gerson, who 75 years ago establish a good track record for curing cancer, diabetes, and many other ailments with fresh, raw vegetable juice. Likewise, a lady named Ann Wigmore ran a clinic for many years and was apparently able to cure every disease with nothing more than wheatgrass juice.
My belief is that all human ailments are caused by nutritional deficiencies. Most of the important nutrients the body requires are found in vegetables, primarily green, leafy vegetables such as kale, spinach, turnip greens, broccoli, cabbage, etc. I think if a person's diet consisted of nothing but kale, they would live to be 120 years old - and never be sick a day in their life. Vitamin C, Vitamin B9 (Folate) the mineral Sulfur are some of the most important nutrients required for good health, but they are denatured or destroyed by cooking - which is my explanation for why Americans are so sickly, and why MMS is so useful. Virtually all Americans are suffering from mal-nutrition, unless they take a big handful of supplements every day - or they drink raw vegetable juice.
The problem is that modern farming methods have caused the soil to be depleted of vital nutrients, so that a carrot or a tomato has less than half of the nutrition that it did 50 or 75 years ago. Even if you eat the recommended 5 to 9 servings of fruits and vegetables every day - you will still not be getting enough of certain vital nutrients. All of the nutrition in vegetables is in the juice, so by juicing one is able to consume more nutrition without all the chewing. A whole big bag of spinach can be reduced to just a small cup of juice, so it's quicker and easier to consume.
I'm not opposed to eating meat, and I'm sure I eat as much as anybody. But I eat meat because I like the taste, not for the nutrition. Most of the nutrients coming from animal sources is found in the organ meats - the liver, adrenal glands, pancreas, brain, etc. Eskimos eat mostly meat, and they stay healthy because they eat the whole animal - guts and all. For example, if you want Vitamin A from an animal - eat the eyeballs! Personally, I'd rather eat a raw carrot.
10 or 12 years ago, I was in pretty bad health - probably near death. This was before I'd heard about MMS, but I'd already totally lost all confidence is modern allopathic medicine. I bought a book on juicing, and gave it a try. In less than a month I was in perfect health, had lost about 30 pounds, and felt like I was 18 years old again.
The problem with juicing is that it's very hard to stick to it. It is rather time consuming to wash and prepare the vegetables beforehand, and a chore to clean up the equipment afterward. So you really need to be "motivated" to be a juicer over the long term. Fear of death is a good motivator, so cancer patients and heart attack victims are good candidates to become juicers.
Since vegetable juice has a lot of Vitamin C and numerous other anti-oxidants, it may be counter-productive to drink raw vegetable juice along with the MMS protocols. I would be more inclined to just let MMS do what it does best, clean out the system of pathagenic microbes and toxins, and then stop the MMS and start overcoming the nutritional deficiencies by eating raw vegetables (salad) or juicing. Juicing will definitely alkalinize the body, but you can also do that by taking sodium bicarbonate or even better would be magnesium bicarbonate, or potassium bicarbonate. I doubt these would interfere with the working of the MMS.
