I recently bought a Kilner jar to make my CDS in and have made about three or four batches. I noticed the rubber seal which was brand new is cracked and disintegrating. has anyone else had that experience? Maybe I should just insert food grade plastic wrap in between the seal and the jar body to prevent the gas from hitting the rubber seal? Or maybe just buy a new rubber seal every 5 times I make it?

I've been mixing mine in a quart ball mason jar, sliding a plastic sandwich baggie over the top and securing with an elastic band and haven't had any issues.
