I've never used the SCS treatment on my cats.
They probably won't "overdose". Cats are notorious for not drinking a lot of water. (more summer, less winter)
The small amounts are probably okay for most circumstances.
I would do all the drinking water, or give one with and one without and see what they do and choose.
Since Sodium Chlorite is a simple salt in an aqueous solution, they supposedly don't notice it,
especially with the very small amounts in the large volume of water.
Any unknown substance that the MMS/CDS is mixed with, food or liquid, should be checked with
ClO2 Test Strips to make sure it's not interfering with the dosage.
I used Chicken Broth for my cats because they always seemed to prefer chicken over beef.
You could also use Tuna can water.
Or "Cat Milk". (Cat-Sip or Whiskas CatMilk or ? -- check with test strips)
Every cat's different, so you have to adjust with their likes and preferences.
If you mix one liter, and keep it out of sunshine, it should last at least a few days,
probably longer if refrigerated. So I would refresh their water every day with what I have mixed.
Or you could toss it and make new. It's pretty cheap.
I hope that adequately answered your questions and concerns.
