I can't find a specific answer to this question in Jim Humbles books and materials and I was wondering if anyone else knows the answer... He says that when mixing Sodium Chlorite and letting it stand overnight, the yellow color should disappear or at least become less noticeable. This didn't happen for me (it was still the same yellowish tint as when I was mixing it) and I'm wondering if that means it has less purity, less strength, both, something else? He just says you might want a new supplier if this happens but doesn't explain the reason as to WHY you may not want to use it. Can I still use it anyway?

SCS has always shown a light yellowish color in all the batches I have made.

If making MMS1 and the color changes from yellow to amber in 30 seconds, that would tell me that is normal.

If making CDS and you get 3000ppm, that is also normal.
