My ears produce a lot of wax, and when too much accumulates I have to see an ear specialist who manually digs it out. The last time that happened, I was showering and my ear plugged up. Sounds like you had the same problem.

In the past, I have soaked a small, rolled up piece of paper towel (that will fit inside my ear) with 3% hydrogen peroxide. I then inserted the small paper towel roll into my ear, which is facing up, and the other side of my head is facing down on a pillow. The wax may dissolve and run out. Doesn't always work, but you could try it.
