I believe there are water softener products available.
Mineral water can react with MMS.
Distilled water leaves all the minerals behind as I understand it.
Purified water, if you can locate some.
But a water softener, off hand, seems like a potential fix.
Maybe one of the other 3 will chime in soon too.

Jerrers, that CDH does not look right. It should start turning a light yellow a few minutes after the three ingredients are mixed in the bottle, and then get darker over 12+ hours.

True distilled water will not have minerals or anything else in it. What kind of distiller do you use? I put my well water directly into a Megahome water distiller and that works fine. Of course, mineral buildup happens in the distiller that I remove with 2 tablespoons of citric acid and 4 liters of boiling water in the distiller about once a month.

Try making CDH again with different water.

Jeff, just to prove that your water might be the problem, if you live in the Colonies you can buy a gallon of distilled water at a grocery store for about a buck. Give that a try and see what happens.

Jeff, I decided to clean my distiller today and the instructions from my distiller user manual may help you with cleaning yours.

"Cleaning and maintenance. (See the instructions located on residue cleaner bottle)

Unplug and remove the upper cover from the distiller body during cleaning.

Fill the boiling chamber with water to cover the residue left from distillation.

Add 1-2 tablespoons of residue cleaner to the water, plug in the power cord to the base, and then the wall.

Residue cleaner is citric acid crystals.

Press the reset button and allow the base to heat the water for approximately 20 minutes.

Unplug the cord from the wall and let the water sit and cool down.

You then should be able to simply rinse out any residue still in the tank. If one cleaning does not remove all residue, do another cleaning.

Perform cleaning as needed, which varies greatly depending on your water and the amount of impurities removed in distillation.

Please Note: Do not use abrasives or harsh chemicals to clean the boil chamber as this could shorten the life of the distiller or void your warranty."

thanks

i have done a clean and the cd his just the same. i am in the uk and for some reason distilled water is not easy to get hold of that is why i bought a distiller. i am waiting on a new supply of mms/citric as they said they had a problem with others and supply might be bad, and will try it again.

prob now is i only have a days cds left and have no idea how long its going to take for replacement, which is a real downer as i felt i was starting to improve a bit even though i only had 120ml for about last 2 weeks.

ive looked around for flakes but they all seen to be in china and am a bit wary as i think the bad supply ive got came from there.

for some reason my browser wont let me look at the mexican site. i get a message that i am forbidden to look at the site from the uk.

other sites i have looked at are in foreign languages like german dutch etc and i cant find a way of converting it to english.

thanks to all for help

Thanks for letting us know, Jeff.

It would be interesting to know more about the sodium chlorite flakes recall notice.

Would you tell us who sold you the flakes, where the flakes came from, why they were recalled, anything that would help us know what to look for when we buy flakes.

You can help us!

Thanks, Jeff.

hi jb13

they are apparently trying to find the cause of the problem. they have been very open and honest and are themslves devastated about this. as soon as iknow more i will post it, but i wouldnt blame the company as they have been selling for a long time and as you know, occasionally s**t happens, but forme its how they respond to it thats important, after all it could happen to anyone, so i dont blame them.

if you remember when i first came to site i had trouble finding supplier then i bought jims book and found one on the list which has been supplying for years. they got unlucky with a contaminated assignment.

i am always prepared to give the benefit of the doubt

thanks

jeff
