Bit of an update on my situation. While waiting on my mattress cover to ship - which took about a week, I wondered if it was possible to make a gel or cream and dug up this patent:
High concentration chlorine dioxide gel composition
They use xanthan gum mixed with CDS. Having never used xanthan gum before, I got a bag of it and mixed something like 1/4 to 1/2 cup of it with enough CDS to keep it wet. It got very thick and was an off yellowish white color. Since I had spots coming back on the underside of my arm, I slathered this mix all over it, wrapped it in plastic wrap and went to bed. By morning it had dried into a shiny coating on my arm. I had to peel and scrub it off, it was painful. My arm was very irritated and red in a couple places. So I started to put vaseline on it. Later, it became itchy and had small bumps all over. These bumps didn't have the characteristic white head like staph, but looked more like an allergic skin reaction, or my immune system basically saying "NO!".
So I started to use this bentonite clay that I forgot that I had. This clay really is helping the skin heal and clear up on my arm. Just 3 days ago it looked terrible, and today it looks a lot better with worst areas turning pink and the skin that was bumpy and irritated going back to normal. I did try using a diluted CDH with less xanthan gum before I got the burn, but the way the xanthan gum dried on my arm was always uncomfortable, and did more harm than good. So, I won't be doing that again or recommending it to anyone. Bentonite clay though, that's pretty close to a miracle
I did finally get my large mattress cover recently. It's 100 inches long and I had to turn it inside out a little bit to shorten it. I used 3ml of sodium chlorite and HCL acid in a shot glass and stood for about 8 minutes inside the bad, with the bathroom window open and a box fan blowing on my face. It made me a bit sweaty and irritated some of the skin around my stomach (I worried that this was more staph), but the next day the irritation went away on it's own. Some of the spots that were really staph around my torso are starting to clear up and several other areas around my body. I'm also using pure CDH spray every day after showering. It's hassle to do the bag protocol, but I think I can manage it once or twice a day. Maybe using the bentonite clay on stubborn areas, then doing the cup gas protocol would work for those.
I had this idea for slicing open a water bottle and using the top "cap half" upside down to hold the chlorine dioxide, having part of a garbage bag tapped around the outer edge, then have it tapped around the bottom half of the bottle with a hole drilled in the middle to let the gas out. But it would probably be simpler just to buy some kind of tubing or pipe. If a garbage bag and HDPE plastic doesn't dissolve with CLO2 gas, does anyone know of PVC pipe is safe to use with it? I've seen some clear tubing around Lowe's hardware store in the past also that seemed promising. The reason I'm going to all this trouble is to avoid playing twister on my bathroom floor while holding a glass of CLO2 gas at the same time
haha!
Just to spread this news, this came out July 30, 2021 - about two weeks ago:
MedCrave - MRSA eradication using chlorine dioxide
Journal of Bacteriology & Mycology: Open Access
In these in vitro experiments, the efficacy of chlorine dioxide
against MRSA has been shown consistently, with growth inhibition of
99.99% -100% in even the smallest concentrations of 0.5ppm.
