This is 240ML of water with the second 12 hour charge 0f 5ml/5ml and 50% citric acid done in 2- 12 hour stages.

You can see there is still a slight color mismatch. The test strips show about "250" in 10 seconds with a 1/9 ratio.

So this might be a little weak?

Is there some way to make the charge kick a little more by heating the outside jar a bit?

Or just change the dilution ratio?

And after we call this "good" what about stabilization?

The double infusion method of making CDS is only when using 4% HCL activator. If you use 50% citric acid, then use the single 12 hour infusion recipe (page 5, part 6) which calls for 12 ml of MMS and 12 ml of either 50% citric or 10% HCL.

Reading CLO2 concentration using test strips is not too accurate at the high end of the scale. Instead of diluting 1 to 10, try diluting 1 to 60, 1 part CDS to 59 parts distilled water. You will have better ppm resolution mid-way on the color scale.

So-called CDS "stabilization" seems to be a way to produce more CLO2 when the added MMS (to the finished CDS) reaches the stomach. Adding MMS is not included in the original recipe to make CDS. I think Mark Grenon came up with this idea and I have never seen any testing results to prove adding MMS to CDS "stabilizes" it. CDS is naturally stable!

The following from a chemist testing CDS:

CDS is perfectly stable, both without and with HCl (stomach acid). (I had 1 L of 1650 ppm CDS forgotten in the fridge. After 361 days it was 1550 ppm, that is only 6% decrease!)

So with the 59ML of water and 1ML of CDs I get a reading of 25 on the test strip in 10 seconds.

So 60 X 25 = 1500PPM Is this still useable?

That is low. The total of MMS and 50% citric acid you used was 10 ml each.

Use twice as much of this batch of CDS for dosing. If you will be ingesting this CDS be aware of the correct dosing compared to dosing with MMS1.

So what I am dosing with now is an "equivlent" dose that starts out at 1500 PPM and has to use twice as much of the 1500 PPM CDS because of the 1/2 strength.

From the chart it would be the "6 drop" dose as far as the quantity instead of the 3 drop dose? So for CDS I would need 13.4ML to give the same CL02 concentration as the 3 drop dose would have done if it were made from the 3000 PPM CDS to begin with?

So will the cup with the 4 OZ of water still test around 25 ppm with CDS 13.4ml of 1500 ppm CDS and 4 oz of distilled water? I got a reading of 100 ppm in the apple juice for some reason.?

I have found that distilled water is needed when measuring CLO2 ppm as I got different numbers using well water, etc.

For dosing with your 1500 ppm CDS, just double the dosing you would normally use if you had 3000 ppm CDS.

Yes, instead of 6.7 ml of 3000 ppm CDS, you would use 13.4 ml of 1500 ppm CDS. These dosages would approximate 3 drop ingested doses of MMS1. If you are just starting taking MMS, then start much lower as per the Starting Procedure and slowly work up your dosing.

I would go by the 1500 ppm reading you got using 1:60 dilution using your stock CDS solution.

I'm planning to switch from using 4% HCl to 50% citric acid to make my CDS. (for budgetary reasons - already have 5L bucket of citric acid). I've read your post and the linked to sheet re making CDS but am struggling to understand how the different acids affect the final strength of the CDS. At the moment I'm only "brewing" the CDS once with the 4% HCl so I'm guessing I am nowhere near reaching a 3000 ppm CDS solution. This doesn't bother me since I am extremely sensitive to it and having to increase v slowly anyway.
My concern is that if I switch to using 50% Citric acid am I going to get a more concentrated CDS solution? This hadn't occured to me before and now I am worried that if I make the switch and have a stronger solution I'm going to get a horrible herx.
I'm not sure if I've misunderstood this completely. At the moment I'm taking 19 mls CDS made from 4% HCL. Is this going to be equivalent to 19mls CDS made using 50% Citric acid. (19mls over 8 doses).
I hope this made sense and many thanks for any help you can give.
ps on a previous post you linked me to info re more rapid dosing of CDS for 2 hours. I am finding this very helpful so thanks for that.
