Hi,
I hope someone can help me. I've been helping a friend grow a garden indoors. We use these cloth pots called "smartpots", which are reusable. The only problem is that they sometimes get moldy. Is there a way to kill the mold with CDH or MMS? What would that protocol be?
Thanks for any help on this.

Joyce, you can spray CLO2 gas in a solution onto the pots. CDS will give you the most CLO2 per volume solution compared to MMS1 and CDH as CDS is fully activated whereas MMS1 is about 15% activated (normal method) and CDH about 50%. You do that by making really strong CDS by adding new reactor solution to the previously made CDS using the overnight method about three times, to end up with about 10,000ppm CDS. That can't be done with MMS1 or CDH.

You can activate MMS in an open container placed inside a cover over the reactor and the pots. That should gas the mold to death. :)

Of course, you can combine both methods. Nothing gets out alive. :woohoo:

Thanks, CLO2!
Since I'm still not trusting myself when it comes to numbers, I am on the "shy" side when it comes to the measuring ppm process. My way around that has been, I try to have quality ingredients and follow recipes as exactly as I can and hope for the best! But I need to up my game.

I greatly appreciate the information you're sharing here about the CLO2 strengths in CDS, CDH and MMS!! Although it still comes back to measuring ppm, doesn't it?!!

I learned to make CDS in Mexico from A. Kalcker, M. Grenon, Kashambra, and Jim himself. (My gosh we all had so much fun at that seminar! and learned heaps!) At the time, we were still using the hot plate and all the tubes. I actually got pretty good at that now obsolete technique for generating CDS. I made CDS only twice using the overnight method. It was, indeed, quite easy... until I came to the measuring PPM part. I do not trust what I'm seeing on those colored strips... and I've forgotten how to do it and I have not made the time to find the ppm measuring information.

Lately I have been making and using CDH. Knowing that there are different strengths for each, alerts me to the fact that each of the forms are good for different purposes. Like I recently saw something on this forum about P-1,000 being more effective when MMS1 (activated MMS), rather than CDS or CDH is used.

I recall when I first started using MMS before Jim published his latest book, I quickly worked up to 15 drops of MMS twice a day for a couple weeks. I am still so disgusted by the smell of MMS after that! Yet the new generation methods have helped me a lot with that. I hope Jim (or Mark?) publishes yet another updated book for us all.

Can you please point me in the direction of simple, clear directions for testing ppm?

Thanks!

Hi Joyce. You asked:

Can you please point me in the direction of simple, clear directions for testing ppm?

Here is a link to that information.

PPM - How to measure

The info is from Kerri's book, appendix 6 which I wrote for her.

That newsletter you mentioned regarding MMS1 being better than CDS or CDH is unfortunately not correct. Jim is writing a retraction now and when that is published I hope the relationship between MMS1, CDS and CDH will finally be made clear. It is all about dosing when they are ingested where more activation should happen in a normal stomach for MMS1 and CDH. But, not for CDS.

If need be, after the newsletter retraction is published, I may have to make a comment or two.

I do not trust what I'm seeing on those colored strips...

Your skepticism on reading the strips is well founded and that is where the mistake happened and upon which the incorrect newsletter was written. It turns out that ppm readings can not be taken when testing in an "artificial stomach" solution because the pH is too low. That was confirmed by asking LaMotte. And is why I took photos to show the relative CLO2 content of various solutions which can be seen visually, but can not measured with strips or many photometers.

That series of photos is here. Using CDH & CDS with MMS Protocols .
