Yes giardia...oh man. my husband and i met while working at a kennel together. This was an open play environment and did great things partnering with different rescues. There was always a set of foster dogs that lived there to be showcased until they were adopted to their forever homes. One of them, named Loren at the time, was a puppy....cute as can be and looked just like our family dog who had passed named calypso. But the poor thing had horrible giardia. It was the most vile diarrhea ever and we were constantly cleaning it up. I convinced my mom to adopt her (this was in 08) and the poor thing has been on giardia meds ever since.... poor baby(she is now named pua...Hawaiian for flower). I wish I would've known then what I know now. At the moment I'm gearing up to start the cd and pp protocol myself along with my little son and my husband, we are living at my parents house and with their two dogs (luna and Pua) and our two (Cassidy and hilton) I'm coming up with a parasite protocol for them as well....one that covers all the worms, fleas, and giardia too. I have convinced my mom to let pua go off of her medicine (it's a powder antibiotic...ugh) and let me do a thorough parasite cleanse and then maintenance.i already have pyranol (sp?) And a TON of DE....just need to order a few more and consult the fb pet deworming group about my plan. I have yet to figure out if/how I'm going to dose cd. Think I have to do it in syringes. (They all share the same water bowl and one drinks way more than the others).
I think as I pick up the poop I will sprinkle the DE where the poop was. My parents yard is HUGE and it would definitely take all my supply to cover lol.

Ps....ate your dog's on cd on top of the PP, or just PP?

What I do with my dogs I put two drops of Un activated MMS in the water that is like 1 liter. That work perfect with them, the first week is the most challenge for them but after the drops clean the digestive system they are happy also the mouth smell disappear. Do not put the water on Metal containers. Has to be Plastic. My dog weight about 25 pound each. I have two.

If you follow your dogs around, and pick it up and scoop a bit of the dirt, I don't think you'd really have to put the DE on it - but it wouldn't hurt, you wouldn't have to put but just a dab - I have some in a sprinkle can - an old one I kept from a fire ant thing)doesn't let out much. The thing about the giardia was (my vet said), the eggs live a bit longer and so you need to get them before the other dog can pick it up or reinfect themselves.

THE Water - the way I do it is: I have a 1 gal and a 1/2 gal enclosed container thing that just lets out a bit at a time, as they drink, the rest stays in the resevoir. (if you have several dogs you'd be better off to have one the larger ones, I think you said you had large dogs, so they'd drink more than mine, so you should have the 2 gal container. . Their are two ways to make it;
1. If the dog will not drink it right away. I take a gal jug of either distilled water or reverse osmosis. For 1 gal I Put 15 to 20 drops UNactivated MMS directly into the gal jug. Then after it has set for a couple hours I then pour from the Gal. jug into my container which holds 1 gal of water. My container is an enclosed container, which holds most of the water in the reservoir and only a bit comes out as they drink it. Being enclosed, it keeps the liquid out of the air and it lasts.
2. If the dog needs to drink it right away - I ACtivate the MMS in a glass - then pour the distilled water or reverse osmosis water into my enclosed container, I put a bit of water into the glass where the MMS has been activated and then pour that into the enclosed container. put it down and let em at it. My dogs don't mind it at all . I then change the water daily or at least every other day. That way the dogs are getting what they need as they drink. The bigger ones will get more, the smaller ones will get less. :cheer:

Getting CD in them - I did the syringe with mine, had a small treat in front of his face and he knew as soon as he got it, he got the yummy - I've heard that with some you could put it in chicken broth, and they's lap it up - :ohmy:

Hhmmm, I have been putting unactivated drops in their ceramic water bowls but i have been using tap water. Unfortunately we don't have a RO system and I only have a little bit of distilled water right now. Are they going to be getting any benefit from the unactivated drops via tapwater?

Should do so. Some of it will be used up, but some will still be there - The thing is to use unactivated only as long as you're sure the dogs or cats won't be drinking it for a number of hours - you want it to activate before you give it to the animals - It's in the book.

Hi Pam,

I have been trying to get access to this group on Facebook. I finally managed to get my account set up but now when I try to access the link it gives me a message saying the page may have moved or I don't have access.

I'm desperate to find any information I can about methods for deworming for my dog. She has been sick for 3 months and the doctors aren't being very helpful.

Is there anyone on this forum who can direct me on how I can access this page? I would be very grateful!!!

Thank you!!
Wendy
