Hi,

Has anybody successfully used MMS to treat SIBO? I did a search in the forum but couldn't find anything. My guess is it would only help if the overgrowth in the small intestine is from "bad" bacteria and not from lactobacillus or bifidobacteria?

I am in a bind here. Because of Lyme, SIBO, and fungal overgrowth I need to avoid all grains, legumes, fruits, nuts, and seeds. Because of a parasite called protomyxzoa rheumatica I need to avoid fats, red meats, and pork. Between that and also avoiding high oxolate foods there is not much left to eat. I don't know how to proceed.

Thanks,
Kania

Hi Kania,

MMS is sure to assist you with ridding the body of harmful microbes/pathogens. It is imperative to wash/soak ALL grains, fruit, vegetables and nuts with a solution of MMS+Distilled water to successfully get rid of harmful bacteria & molds which are the precursors of ill-health. Our bodies require grains, fresh/untainted fruit & vegetables, meats, nuts etc. to stabilize our immune system. Avoiding these foods would otherwise exacerbate any illness.

I would definitely get the parasite infection under control - This parasite seems to be part of the lyme issue. There also seems to be a major implication in biofilm exacerbating this problem, or allowing the parasites to "hide" - MMS will work on the biofilm. It appears that the treatment of choice is some combination of ivermectin (which is a systemic) and flagyl, which is an antifungal. If you need to avoid mineral supplementation (which I've also read) in order to negatively affect the biofilm, I would move to sea water - which has all the minerals you could need, in a form that is easier to take.

I agree with Fernel - you've got to get food from the various food groups to heal. It might take a bit longer to heal, but heal you can.

If you have the ability to grow simple herbs such as fresh oregano, rosemary, basil,garlic... Order from gardening companies on the net if you do not have the ability to go to a plant nursery close by...and other healthy vegetables, cultivating, tending, and eating as you care for your garden will be part of your healing day by day. The sun and fresh air along with the fresh organic foods are a huge help. This can be in the yard or Pots on a patio or roof. Bless your heart! Keep active! Activity, daily walks, happy thoughts helping yourself, then sharing with others brings healing and lots of joy!

Kania, I heard doctors that treat SIBO say that herbs alone and diet will not heal SIBO. Although they are Integrative medical doctors, like Dr. Pimentel and Siebecker, ND (Portland, Oregon), they recommend specific antibiotics for difficult SIBO along with specific diet after the bacteria has been eradicated.

But I am sure that MMS1 and MMS2 help alot. That is what I am trying now hoping my breath test will be normal. I have all the symptoms of SIBO and several health conditions that cause it, like pancreatic malfunction, hypothyroid, auto immune condition, and lack of stomach acid.

What calms down Sibo for me is the low FODMAPS diet and the Specifi Carbohydrate diet.NO gluten, sugar, no onions, garlic, no flours, no beans and only lactose free dairy in very limited amounts., etc..There is a lot of information online.

With this diet of mainly animal protein, eggs, specific veggies, some fruit, some nuts and few starches, good fats like coconut oil, macadamia, olive oil, I don't have any bloating, pain or gas in the stomach/intestines. IBS and SIBO are usually together. All experts on these, say to be gluten-free or the damage continues.

I have a question:

Why can't we use calcium, magnesium, and other minerals with MMS1 and MMS2. It has been a while I use the forum and only saw brief references to this, as Pam says in this thread.

I have osteoporosis and need these minerals. I tried ocean water but it makes me retain fluids and I get ankle swelling.
