We're you storing the DMSO at less than 65 degrees F? It changes when it's cold.

I would never recommend Veterinary grade or lower, I would only every purchase pure Pharmaceutical grade, this is a solvent a carrier so only buy the very best grade. Any reputable person selling DMSO would not supply anything less. Buy the book DMSO natures healer by Dr Morton Walker, this will be the best book you have read, it is my bible!

Mine is a little oily - you notice it more when mixing with water - I personally am not worried about it - I'd be more worried if it wasn't a little oily.

DMSO (dimethyl sulfoxide) is a liquid solvent, more importantly it benefits human body cells, tissues and organs in very unique ways.

Always ensure to use a pure medical grade only. It should be colourless with a garlic like odor and feel oily to the touch.

Types of DMSO: industrial grade, veterinarian grade and pharmaceutical (medical grade) when this solvent is transfered into smaller containers by resalers it increases the chances of impurity. NOTE industrial grade has the potential of carrying the harmful chemicals within in it directly into your blood streem, BUY AND BEWARE.

DMSO molicule is ten-sided with a center occupied by a sulfur atom. Two methyl groups, an oxygen atom, and a nonbinding electron pair are located at the points of the tetrahedron.

DMSO's melecular weight is 78.15. The drug is capable of entering into a chemical reaction characterized by the development of heat, and it releases 60 calories (cal) per gram (g) of DMSO when mixed with water. The boiling point is 760 millimetres (mm). Because DMSO has a freezing point of 68 degrees f, one is able to tell its approximate concentration, if the bottle of liquid came from an unknown sourse, put the unopened bottle into the refrigerator (not in the freezer) within 2 hours the liquid will turn solid, like ice. this means that you have 99.5% DMSO, THE PUREST AND HIGHEST CONCENTRATION MADE. Leaving the bottlecap on will prevent hydrolyzation (decomposition) so that the liquid will freeze at 68 degrees f or less. if when the frozen bottle is turned upside down, little rivulets of water flow through the ice, you have veterinary grade, this i
means it is a lesser concentration of DMSO.

If the DMSO does not freeze after 2 hours, put it in the reezer. If it does not freeze at 32 degrees f, it is really low in DMSO such as an antifreeze! not deemed for intended use.

To reliquify DMSO that has turned to ice in the bottle, mearly put it in a pan of warm water. In pure for medical DMSO the life span of this solvent is indeffinate. DMSO is a natural bi-product of wood, however it can be also made from fruit!

I hope that you find the above useful.
