The patch protocol in Jim's book says to leave the patch in place for 7 minutes the first time, and if no problems, then 15 minutes thereafter. Apply once or twice a day until well.
Full-strength DMSO can burn skin and that is a reason the protocol says to add more water if burning happens. I made this recipe (0.5 ml of MMS, 4% HCL, water & full-strength DMSO for a total of 2.0 ml) and measured the pH as 3.0 (10 drops of solution is 0.5 ml if drop size is 0.05 ml or 20 drops/ml)
I made up a batch using 1.5 ml of 3000 ppm CDS + 0.5 ml full-strength DMSO. Total recipe = 2.0 ml. The pH was 3.5
The pH is low enough to irritate skin, and undiluted DMSO alone can burn skin. Adding additional water should raise the pH and also dilute DMSO.
MMS1 is only 10% activated when made whereas CDS is fully activated. If CLO2 is the magic ingredient, then CDS should be the preferred sodium chlorite solution to use for the Patch Protocol.
