CDS is in the 5.4 range, as I recall. There's no problem with that - However, it will burn for a brief time if put on an open cut or wound. I "tried to cut a knuckle off" one night with a knife that I'd cut some frozen butter with and the butter stuck to the knife. When I tried to get the butter off, it slipped and sliced into the first knuckle of my left thumb. I immediately put what I call high test CDS on it (probably about 8000ppm) - boy did that sucker sting for a while. However, it healed quickly, and didn't leave a scar at all (and I keloid).
If you wish to raise the pH of CDS (although I'm not sure why you would do so, unless you were doing an injection) you would probably be best adding straight unactivated MMS1 to it rather than baking soda. The MMS1 is highly alkaline.
